General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, December 8 Recap – Sonny Threatens Heather – Martin Risks Arrest - Ryan Clears Esme as Hook

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 8, reveals that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) tried to clear Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) as “The Hook” while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) threatened Heather Webber (Alley Mills). Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) also risked arrest, so here’s how all the drama went down.

In Ireland, Martin was at the door after accessing Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) bank account and seeing his plane ticket transaction.

Martin thought Valentin would lead him to Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) killer, but he was willing to entertain the notion that maybe Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was innocent.

Anna finally admitted they had reason to believe Lucy was still alive, but the conversation was derailed by Agent Whitten’s (Mike Peeble) arrival with some backup. That sent Valentin and Anna elsewhere in the house to hide.

Martin wound up answering the door and pretending he was there to grieve, but Agent Whitten wasn’t buying it and demanded Anna answers.

After Martin lied about representing homeowner Tiffany Hill (Shannon Wyatt), he pointed out that there was no warrant.

While another agent was trying to arrange one, armed Agent Whitten threatened Martin.

Valentin appeared and provided a distraction so Anna could pull her own gun on Whitten, who she eventually knocked out.

Martin then claimed Whitten had collapsed due to a medical condition as he summoned the other agents from outside.

While Agent Whitten woke up and called for Martin’s arrest, Valentin and Anna made their escape.

At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) still felt responsible for Reiko Finn’s (Mele Ihara) death and just didn’t think she could get past this in her relationship with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).

Liz acted like she didn’t deserve Finn’s love, but he insisted she did.

After Elizabeth ignored Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) call, Finn admitted to getting a strange vibe during his Wyndemere visit.

Liz was stunned to find out Finn went to Spoon Island looking for Esme.

At Wyndemere, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) picked up on the fact that Nikolas didn’t want him around and assumed this was about repairing his marriage to Ava Jerome (Maura West).

After Spencer learned Nikolas was getting a divorce, Nik insisted Spencer was family and that he’d always love him.

That said, Spencer couldn’t stay there since Nik felt it was too soon for cohabitation.

Nikolas acted like they needed to work on rebuilding their bond before Spencer could move back in, but Spencer lashed out since that obviously sounded ridiculous.

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) also protested since he had to stay close to Spencer as a condition of his prison release.

Nikolas guessed that meant both Victor and Spencer would have to move in the Metro Court.

That was fine by Spencer, but Victor wouldn’t commit to moving out yet.

Even so, Victor thought Spencer could use a good meal and headed for the Port Charles Grill with him.

Once Nikolas was alone, he flung a nearby item in frustration and blamed Esme for his latest Spencer setback.

At the Port Charles Grill, Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) kept complimenting Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) beauty and loved her passion regarding a new art exhibit.

Trina agreed to give Rory a private preview on Sunday and grab lunch with him afterward.

Rory also brought up his Christmas Eve plans since his family was having a casual thing.

Trina was a bit hesitant when Rory wanted her to come meet his relatives, but she ultimately got on board.

Later, Rory told Trina that he loved her as she dug into dessert.

Trina said pardon, so Rory practically shouted that he loved her – just in time for Spencer to overhear and glare at the two of them together.

At Spring Ridge, Sonny pulled some strings so that he could speak with Heather and got menacing as he pushed for information.

Since Sonny heard Heather had a description of the prison transport driver, he wanted her to talk to him before the police.

Heather gave a perfect description of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), so Sonny said that it was unfortunate.

That left Heather wondering if Sonny didn’t want her to remember, so he said he didn’t want the cops to find Anna.

Sonny also hinted that prisons were violent places and bad things could happen, even in minimum security facilities.

Heather suddenly acted like she was terrible with faces and was pretty sure she had described one of the nurses at GH.

Since Heather didn’t think she had anything to offer the cops, Sonny said that was good and told her to take care of herself since no one else would.

When Sonny ran into Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) in the common area, he claimed he was there to talk to the warden about funding an education program.

As for Ryan, he refused to speak with Jordan until Ava joined the interview. Ava arrived late due to traffic, but she told Ryan to get blinking.

When asked if Esme was capable of murder, Ryan blinked to his caregiver that she was.

However, Ryan didn’t think Esme wrote the killer’s letter since it talked about “me and mine” when Esme was all alone in the world.

Through his caregiver, Ryan also asked why Ava was still wearing her wedding ring when things were over with Nikolas.

Although Ryan pushed Ava to come back to him, Ava acted like her marriage was fine and said she was crazy about Nikolas – unlike Ryan, who she never cared for at all.

Once Jordan decided they were done for tonight, Ryan was wheeled back to his room.

That left Ryan wondering what Esme had gotten herself into this time.

After Heather let herself in Ryan’s room, she greeted him and called him “lover.”

Meanwhile, Jordan gave Sonny updates on the profile they were developing on Esme, who had taken an interest in Ryan while she was an intern.

Ava acknowledged that Ryan had a point since Esme was always playing up her lonely orphan status for sympathy.

Jordan admitted the idea was worth considering since her team had also picked up on the “me and mine” comment.

The PCPD had to explore all their options in the investigation.

In a moment alone with Ava, Sonny urged her not to let Ryan get inside her head. Even so, Sonny felt that Nikolas was bad news and should be cut loose.

General Hospital spoilers say Nikolas’ mess will keep getting messier, so stay tuned!
