General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, September 29 Recap – Austin’s Syringe Shocker – Sonny’s Dex Decision – Josslyn’s Rescue

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 29, reveals that fans saw Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) syringe shocker while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) made a Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) decision. Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) rescue effort paid off for now, so here’s how all the drama played out.

In Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) officer, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) wanted to know if Jordan was going to take her suspicions to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner).

Jordan insisted Portia should be the one to do that, but Portia argued that she already told Curtis years ago that he wasn’t Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) father.

When Jordan wondered if Portia knew that for a fact, Portia ranted about how this could blow up Trina and Marcus Taggert’s (Real Andrews) worlds.

Portia argued that if nothing was said, things would proceed as normal.

Jordan wasn’t so sure about that and knew this wouldn’t end well for Portia if Curtis found out on his own.

At the hospital, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) told Trina that it wasn’t safe for either of them at the gallery right now, so she was closing it since the attacker was still out there.

Trina tried to protest, but Ava revealed that she’d lined up a different internship for her.

It was a prestigious one at the museum of fine arts, which Trina previously thought she couldn’t get into this year.

At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) place, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) insisted the last thing he needed was a cop for a dad.

Maxie didn’t see what Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) job had to do with anything, but Austin Gatlin piped up that it had everything to do with it.

Austin understood that family stuff could be complicated, but Maxie just wanted Cody to give Mac a chance.

When Mac met up with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), he pushed her to reveal what happened with Cody after he left the Metro Court.

Felicia had another idea and took Mac over to Maxie’s place.

Austin got a text from Mason (Nathanyael Grey) and had to leave, so he ran into Mac and Felicia on his way out.

Mac was surprised to see Cody, who tried to bolt until Felicia and Maxie stopped him.

Cody finally acknowledged that Mac had been asking questions because of his involvement with Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson).

It took Mac some time to accept the possibility that Cody might be his son, but he’d indeed accepted that possibility.

Mac sensed that Cody wasn’t on board yet, so Cody talked about disappointments in his life and didn’t see what difference knowing the truth would make.

Felicia piped up that it could make all the difference – and Maxie agreed that it was time for a DNA test.

Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) also showed up at the hospital to play for a music therapy program, so he caught up with Curtis and wondered why he hadn’t set a wedding date with Portia yet.

Curtis admitted he was technically still married to Jordan since there was a mix-up with the divorce papers.

Back with Ava, she told Trina that Curtis set her new internship in motion and that he was the one who deserved gratitude.

Curtis suddenly walked in and explained how this was his effort to keep Trina safe.

Trina stepped outside with Curtis and told him she couldn’t accept the fellowship, so she handed him the letter Ava gave her and stomped off.

Curtis followed Trina, who was upset about him making decisions for her when she was a sophomore in college, not a kid.

After Trina said even her dad couldn’t make decisions for her anymore, she added that Curtis certainly wasn’t her dad!

Portia overheard that part and seemed rather panicked over what was going on.

Once Portia got updates, Curtis refused to apologize for trying to protect Trina and hoped she wouldn’t throw this fellowship opportunity away.

Over with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), he confessed to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) that he violated the computer fraud and abuse act when he launched Society Setups.

Spinelli explained how he had to cast a wider net to find someone’s perfect match, so he had to look at the digital footprint of the lovelorn all over the world.

Sam asked if Spinelli was saying he learned how to hack everyone, so Spinelli explained his invention was called Cupid’s Arrow.

It could penetrate every system and firewall to find out literally every aspect of someone’s life.

Sam said Spinelli was screwed and urged him to shut all this down, but Spinelli was reluctant since he was making amazing matches and the money was good.

When Sam questioned how Society Setups could make such an obvious mismatch in Cody and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Spinelli admitted Cody coerced him into making that match.

Unfortunately, Spinelli wasn’t sure that Cody’s reasons were entirely romantic.

Over with Sonny, he wondered why Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) cared what happened to Dex.

Michael acted like throwing a convenient scapegoat to the wolves wouldn’t fix anything, but Sonny asked why he was so convinced that Dex was innocent.

Josslyn eventually arrived looking for Dex and told Sonny that he was wearing a clean shirt right after Ava’s stabbing.

The real attacker would’ve had Ava’s blood all over them – and Josslyn didn’t believe there was time for Dex to have changed.

Plus, Dex was the one who insisted they should leave for the hospital themselves instead of waiting for the paramedics.

That made all the difference in keeping Ava alive. Josslyn felt confident that Dex didn’t go after Ava, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) or Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).

Next, Carver warned Dex that they could do this the easy way or the hard way, but he insisted Dex would start talking sooner or later.

Once Carver stepped out for a moment, Dex managed to knock his knife set on the floor.

Dex was straining trying to get a hand free when Carver returned and threw a bucket of water on him.

After Dex kicked Carver back toward the door, Carver seemed even more eager to inflict pain.

Sonny ultimately knocked on the door and said they were in a holding pattern since he had to do some fact-checking.

At the PCPD, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) talked to Jordan about how much blood Ava lost and how Dex was wearing a clean shirt.

Dante thought Josslyn’s instincts about Dex’s innocence were right in this case, but he mentioned how Joss heard the same jangling sound that Brando heard in the alley.

Back at GH, Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) was surprised to see Austin since he wasn’t on the schedule, but he claimed he was covering for someone.

After Austin found Mason, they bickered as Austin said his debt was paid after this.

Mason suggested it was cute that Austin thought it worked like that and told him it was showtime.

Austin intercepted a patient named Gordon at the nurses’ desk and took him to an exam room.

Although Austin started asking questions about Gordon’s medical history, Mason suggested he could skip the formalities.

Austin told Gordon to lie back, prepared a syringe for him and said he wouldn’t feel a thing.
