General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, August 16 Recap – Willow’s Chemo Baby Panic – Trina Free After Last-Minute Witness

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 16, reveals that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) had chemo questions and faced baby panic after her diagnosis. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) also walked free after a last-minute witness, so let’s talk about how Tuesday’s action played out.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) claimed that he was the one who fought with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) before she hurled off the parapet to her death.

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) wasn’t so sure that Esme was deceased – and even if she was, he feared what would happen if the body was found.

Nikolas’ side of the story didn’t add up, so Victor pushed for the real one and got him to admit Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) fought with Esme instead.

Since Ava had become a threat, Victor argued that she had to be eliminated.

Nikolas refused to let Victor kill Ava, but he insisted it didn’t have to be so drastic.

That said, Victor vowed to turn Ava into the cops if Nikolas refused to. Nikolas fired back that Ava was family and thought he could turn things around in his marriage.

Once Nikolas pushed for silence, Victor decided he’d help with the cover-up.

Since Victor insisted that all evidence must be destroyed, Nikolas brought Esme’s suitcase out of its hiding spot.

At GH, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) admitted to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that they’d granted the protections Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) asked for.

After striking a deal, Oz was ready to be transported to the courtroom for his testimony.

The judge was ready to move ahead with the verdict, but DA Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) showed up to announce the new evidence and the key witness’ imminent arrival.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) pointed out that the verdict wasn’t official yet and pushed the judge not to let an innocent woman go to prison on a technicality.

The judge reluctantly decided they’d wait, so it wasn’t long until Oz took the stand.

Oz looked at Esme’s picture and confirmed that he sold a black-market phone to her in January.

During Oz’s testimony, he also revealed that Esme seemingly drugged him to keep that quiet. As for Trina, Oz insisted he never sold her any type of phone.

That was enough to get the charges dropped, so an elated Trina was free to go.

Trina celebrated with her family before speaking to Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) alone and making plans for later.

Once Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) approached, Trina questioned his about-face to help her and wondered what changed.

Spencer smiled and said everything, but that obviously didn’t offer a real explanation.

As for Dex, he noticed the jury foreman leaving behind what would’ve been the verdict. Dex snatched that and took it with him on his way out.

Ava also learned the hunt was on for Esme, so her eyes widened at the thought of the cops heading to Wyndemere.

At the Metro Court, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) overheard Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as they discussed having a date in the restaurant.

Olivia offered a big “hell no” on that and insisted they were all booked up – though she couldn’t stop Sonny and Nina from having dinner at the bar.

Nina and Sonny had a lovely time, but he ultimately got called away after a call from Brick (Stephen A. Smith).

Sonny acknowledged that there’d always be questions when it came to his business, but Nina was unbothered and truly didn’t want the answers.

After another call to get details from Brick, Sonny met up with Dex.

Once Dex said he had news, Sonny insisted he did, too – and he menacingly added that it wasn’t good.

By the Metro Court pool, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) got some help putting up decorations for Willow’s graduation party.

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) all pitched in.

Olivia cornered Carly to tell her about the “situation” with Nina and Sonny, but Carly insisted she didn’t care.

Once Olivia brought up how close Carly was getting to Drew, Carly argued that they were just friends and felt anything else would be too complicated.

Even so, Olivia thought Drew and Carly were on the same page about their more than friendly vibe.

At GH, Willow arrived for her appointment with Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

After Terry and Britt congratulated Willow on graduating from nursing school, they went over the biopsy results that confirmed she indeed had leukemia.

Terry assured Willow that they caught this in an early stage, but Willow was mostly concerned about her baby.

Britt mentioned that treatment is sometimes delayed with pregnancies since chemotherapy is detrimental to the fetus’ development.

Britt and Terry wanted to form a full treatment plan soon, but Willow was clearly overwhelmed and needed tonight to think things through.

Soon after, Willow spoiled Michael’s surprise by showing up where she wasn’t supposed to.

Michael could tell something was off with Willow and questioned what was wrong.

Over with Carly, she ran into Nina down in the Metro Court restaurant, so there was tension right away.

Back at Wyndemere, the doorbell rang right as Nikolas and Victor were trying to dispose of Esme’s suitcase.

Victor slipped the suitcase behind a shrub before Nikolas opened the door to Jordan, who had a search warrant.

General Hospital spoilers say Nikolas and Victor will struggle thanks to this tight spot, so stay tuned!
