General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Wednesday, August 17, teases that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will deal with lying Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) while Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) struggles with paternity secret guilt. There’ll also be an Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) evidence hunt, so let’s discuss all the chaos happening in Port Charles.
First, Sonny will want to get a few things straight with his newest hire. Dex will land on the hot seat for lying to Sonny, but things aren’t quite as they seem.
Sonny hasn’t found out anything about Dex’s scheme with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) yet, but there are indeed some red flags in Dex’s background check.
That may actually be Michael’s fault since he had someone ensure that it’d come up clean.
Brick (Stephen A. Smith) may have figured out that background check was sanitized – leaving Sonny to demand answers about what Dex is hiding.
Naturally, Dex may come up with some excuse to cover the blunder and point out that the jury tampering paid off.
Based on the discarded verdict that Dex swiped, he may have proof that the jury was going to rule in Trina’s favor.
That could earn Dex a few points, but the trust he’s built with Sonny will still take a hit.
Sonny may warn that if Dex dares to hide anything else from him, there’ll be far worse consequences.
Since Dex is already hiding his plot with Michael, things may not work out well for him down the road.
In the meantime, Michael will try to get to the bottom of Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) problems.
Willow is visibly shaken following her appointment at GH, but she won’t tell Michael she has leukemia just yet.
Instead, Willow will share her fears with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), who’ll push his friend and colleague to let Michael in.
Although TJ will understand Willow’s hesitation, she can’t keep delaying the inevitable and could really use Michael’s comfort.
Next, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will have a shouting match.
A simple argument will escalate into a physical confrontation, but Carly will think Nina has it coming!
At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will be on edge as Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and her team search the property.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) managed to hide Esme’s suitcase before Nikolas opened the door, but there’ll be concerns about the possibility of it being found anyway.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) should show up to help Nikolas present a united front and may agree to move back in.
Victor will continue to protect Ava and Nikolas, but he’ll expect Ava to stay in line since so much is at stake.
In the courtroom, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will have to decide how much he’s going to reveal.
Part of Spencer wants to tell Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) he believed she was innocent all along and was fighting desperately to nail Esme.
However, Spencer will face doubts about his decision to come clean.
Maybe Spencer will decide he’s not worthy of Trina, especially not when he’s going to be stuck behind bars for three months.
Spencer may act like his change of heart was a more recent development and let Trina stay on this romantic path with Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse).
Trina needs to hear the whole truth, but Spencer may not be willing to provide it.
That could mean Spencer will pressure Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) to lie for him.
Wednesday’s preview video shows Josslyn getting riled up over a secret, so that may be Spencer’s continued one.
Joss won’t be able to promise anything when it comes to keeping this under wraps, but she should stay silent for now since Trina will be busy enjoying her freedom.
Of course, Portia has a secret over her own – and it involves the identity of Trina’s father.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is Trina’s bio dad based on all the heavy-handed hints the show’s offered so far.
After Curtis talks about how he’s going to love Trina just like she’s his own child, it’ll strike Portia right in the heart.
Since Trina is truly Curtis’ daughter, Portia will struggle under the weight of what she knows.
General Hospital spoilers say Curtis and Trina’s biological bond will be exposed down the road, so stay tuned for more drama!
