General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, January 5 Recap – Peter Wants to Prove Not Franco’s Killer – Louise’s Identity Exposed

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 5, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) wanted to prove he wasn’t Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) killer and hired an attorney for that very task. Louise August’s (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) identity was also exposed to Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) since she quickly figured out the truth.

At the Quartermaine mansion on Wednesday’s GH show, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) assured Tracy that she found a mother who couldn’t take care of her baby and helped her out.

Tracy feared Brook Lynn might’ve stolen the child, but Brook Lynn insisted that wasn’t the case.

Tracy didn’t understand why Brook Lynn was continuing the lie and why Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was now part of all this.

Tracy didn’t buy the idea that Brook Lynn and the handsome detective were just friends either!

Meanwhile, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) disagreed with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in the kitchen.

Willow didn’t think keeping quiet about Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) Nixon Falls secret was the same thing as Michael secretly taking action with DA Sheridan (David Jahn).

Before the tension could escalate, Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) showed up and gave Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) his belated Christmas gift.

Wiley loved his toy train and offered Harmony the picture he’d just drawn before giving her a hug.

After Michael took Wiley out of the room, Willow and Harmony discussed Nina’s charges getting dropped.

Harmony found out Willow wasn’t really on the same page as Michael when it came to Nina. She thought it’d be good for Nina to be in Wiley’s life if Willow didn’t view her as a threat.

When Michael returned, Harmony suggested he should trust Willow’s instincts.

Michael didn’t think this was any of Harmony’s business and pointed out he was already trusting Willow’s instincts when it came to Harmony considering her history.

Harmony was sorry for overstepping since Michael clearly felt she did.

At GH, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) approached Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) for updates on Peter.

Maxie was terrified over the possibility that Peter might escape again and wasn’t pleased to see Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) go in Peter’s room.

Peter wanted to hire Martin as his attorney, so Martin asked what for. “To prove that I did not kill Franco Baldwin,” Peter replied.

Peter was willing to pay Martin’s hefty retainer, so Martin took the case – though he warned that Peter would be facing a mountain of charges in other jurisdictions.

Peter suggested he would fight one battle at a time. He later got a visit from Britt, who told Peter not to call her his sister.

Britt was glad she didn’t grow up with Peter and taunted him over losing his own daughter.

Britt also made it clear that she wanted Peter to spend the rest of his life rotting behind bars until he joined Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) in hell.

When Britt met back up with Austin, she admitted it felt good telling Peter off. Talk turned to their abysmal social lives and Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) matchmaking service gift, so Austin ultimately suggested he could be Britt’s wingman.

At Charlie’s Pub, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) were concerned about Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storm) firm belief that Louise was safe and happy somewhere else. They liked the idea of optimism, but they felt Maxie was going overboard.

After Maxie joined Anna and Felicia, they were interrupted by Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and the news of Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) death.

While Felicia and Maxie headed to the Quartermaine mansion, Anna and Robert reflected on the loss of Luke together.

At the Q manse, Maxie stole some moments with “Bailey” and made Brook Lynn nervous.

Maxie followed Brook Lynn out into the foyer, where Brook Lynn admitted Tracy knew she was never pregnant.

Maxie was upset over just now learning this info and feared trouble since Tracy was so suspicious.

In the living room, Felicia expressed her condolences over Luke before talk turned to Louise.

Tracy’s wheels started turning when she heard Louise and “Bailey” were the same age. Between that and noticing that Maxie was drawn to “Bailey,” it didn’t take Tracy long to crack the case.

In a moment alone with the baby, Tracy told “Bailey” that she’d lived such an interesting life so far. “Or should I call you Louise?” Tracy asked as she looked down at the bassinet.

As for Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), he approached Valentin and was sorry to hear about losing a granddaughter due to Brook Lynn’s deception.

Valentin made it clear that Charlotte Cassadine (Amelie McLain) was off-limits before Victor pitched the idea of making Brook Lynn pay.

After Martin showed up late for their meeting and admitted he’d taken on Peter as a client, Valentin was irked in more ways than one.

Valentin said they’d have to reschedule and once again ran into Victor on the elevator.

Victor wanted to start acting like a family and felt Brook Lynn had messed with the Cassadine clan as a whole through her scheme.

Victor pushed for payback, so Valentin finally relented and wondered what he had in mind for Brook Lynn.

General Hospital spoilers say Brook Lynn now has a major target on her back, so don’t miss what’s in store.
