General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, October 5 Recap – Nina Taunts Willow for Cheating with TJ – Dex Won’t Abandon Sonny Takedown

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 5, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) taunted Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) for cheating with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) while Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) refused to abandon the Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) takedown mission.

At the cemetery in Jacksonville, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) gave an interview to a reporter named Tara (Ellen Leyva) with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) by her side.

Afterward, Carly contemplated giving up the name Corinthos since she wasn’t holding onto anything when it came to Sonny. Drew wondered what name Carly would go by instead, but she didn’t have a chance to choose before a call came in from Tara.

Although the interview would air tonight as expected, a rival news station beat them to the punch with a vicious story of their own. Carly read some details on her phone that trashed her past, so she knew she’d become a target.

At GH, Nina caught up with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), who complained about the recent drama with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and got reassurance.

In another area of the hospital, Willow revealed that her latest bloodwork results were moving in the wrong direction. This concerned TJ, who spoke to Willow as a friend rather than a doctor.

TJ admitted Willow was making choices that “scared the hell” out of him, but Willow was adamant about waiting until her next trimester to start treatment. Willow just wanted to give her baby the best possible chance and didn’t want to fight about this, so TJ vowed to support her.

When Nina came around the corner, she found Willow and TJ in a warm embrace. “Well, well, well…who are the cheaters now?” Nina said to herself.

After Nina moseyed along, Willow told TJ that she couldn’t lose another child. TJ had total faith in Willow to beat her leukemia and promised to be by her side every step of the way, so she hugged him once again.

A little later, Nina approached Willow to note that she looked pale and didn’t really have to keep working while pregnant. It left Nina wondering what was so compelling that Willow couldn’t tear herself away from at the hospital.

Willow pointed out that she wanted to put her degree to good use, but she made it clear that it was none of Nina’s business. However, Nina expressed doubt about Willow’s commitment to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

Although Nina claimed she had no intention of telling anyone about the incredibly intimate embrace she witnessed, she warned that others might not be so considerate.

Back with TJ, he filled Curtis in on a friend who was choosing a risky path and told him to back off. Curtis also vented about his Trina issues, but TJ didn’t think Trina would stay mad forever.

After Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) acknowledged Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) visible rage, she suggested she’d speak with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) about ordering another neurological exam.

Once Ryan was alone, he fumed as he wondered what Ava had done to Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).

Meanwhile, Esme was busy eavesdropping off to the side of Kelly’s. Trina left a voicemail for Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) before Ava arrived and brought Trina up to speed on her visit to see Ryan.

At Pozzulo’s, Michael didn’t want Josslyn to call the cops and put Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in a position where he’d have to arrest his own father. Josslyn thought Dante would want to be involved if he knew Sonny ordered a freak with knives to inflict torture.

Sonny pointed out that Dex was off the hook now that Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) had identified her attacker as a woman. Dex reiterated that he didn’t want the police involved, so Josslyn left in a huff.

Once Sonny was alone with “Carver,” he seethed since he didn’t know about the knives. Carver was about to cut up Dex in Sonny’s name without his knowledge, so Sonny snarled that he had a problem with that – and he didn’t like problems.

In the end, Sonny called Selina Wu (Lydia Look) to let her know Carver wasn’t a good fit and that he would no longer be needed as an interrogator.

Back with Josslyn, she spilled the latest Dex details to Trina and Ava. Once Ava found out Dex had been accused, she tracked Sonny down to put in a good word for the employee who saved her life.

Sonny explained that he didn’t want to condemn Dex without proof, but he also couldn’t let a potential threat to his family wander around. Ava decided that Sonny did the right thing, but Josslyn disagreed in her own conversation with Trina.

Joss ranted about Sonny being even worse than she thought, but she was also upset over Dex refusing to call the cops on him. After Josslyn suggested she hoped Dex went somewhere far away from Port Charles, Trina thought that’d be best for Joss as well since a guy like Dex was trouble.

Next, Michael showed up at Dex’s place to offer severance and hazard pay. Things had gotten too dangerous, so Michael insisted Dex didn’t work for him anymore.

Dex argued that the job wasn’t finished and acted like he could use Sonny’s misjudgment over the situation to their advantage.

Michael finally caved in, but he warned that Josslyn couldn’t know Dex worked for him. Dex didn’t like the idea of lying to Joss every time he saw her, so he decided to just stay away.

At Spring Ridge, Ryan had a twisted fantasy where he got physical with Ava and accused her of killing his little girl. Before Ryan got his revenge, he wanted to love Ava one more time and planted a kiss that she reciprocated.

Once Ryan snapped out of the daydream, a grinning Esme showed up and asked if Daddy missed her. Ryan smiled back as the father and daughter were reunited.
