In tonight’s NCIS Hawaii episode, Special Agent Nick Torres was in town to collect a witness. The witness disappeared on him some years back and it was Special Agent in Charge Tennant who found him. She had a history with Torres. They were old friends. Perhaps something more at one point in time.

Not any longer. They were now just friends and they’ve spent years denying the many rumors about them. They especially hated their nickname. “TNT”. Tennant’s team didn’t hear the rumors. Something she was grateful for. They just knew that Torres was flying into town to collect a missing witness and the next thing they heard was when Torres and Tennant got hit.

They were driving on their road with their witness when someone began firing at them. The shots forced them off the road and they took cover while unfortunately their witness was killed. But they did return fire. They fired upon the men shooting at them and they drove off just not before they disappeared with the witness’s body. The witness was Kyle Jennings. He worked as a private contractor overseas. The firm was called Fortress. The fortress was responsible for the death of Marine Corporal Daniel Menlo. It was believed that Fortress or a member of it had improperly stored grenades and that it set off an explosion.

Fortress blamed the explosion on a man working for them. Someone by the name of Greg Winslow. They fired him and he seems committed suicide once stateside. Jennings was the last person therefore in the know who truly knew what happened with the explosion. He went on the run after he came back from overseas.

Torres has been looking for him ever since. Since then, someone had been giving Torres tips about Jennings’s movements. This was how Torres learned Jennings was in Tennant’s neck of the woods. He tipped off his old friend. She took things from there and fast-forward to Jennings’s body was now missing.

Tennant called in her team. They searched the scene for any evidence and they found flora that was only on one campsite of the island. Tenant and Torres went there searching for Jennings’s body when they inadvertently ran into Winslow. Winslow was still alive. He faked his death and has been following Jennings because he wanted to prove he had nothing to do with the explosion overseas. The team still arrested him, but they put him at the station while they continue to question him and to get the bottom of why he was still alive. Winslow said he had to fake his death because Fortress would have killed him to cover up what really happened overseas.

Not that he knows what really happened. He was just the fall guy. He said that Jennings was the one who knew all about Fortress and that he knew what really caused the explosion. Winslow didn’t know much. He was just the supplies guy. But Jennings was dead. The bad guys even went to great lengths to collect his body and so the body most hold some bit of evidence. The team came to suspect that Fortress was going to get rid of the body by cremating it. They checked all locations all the island and they spotted one that wasn’t supposed to be operational yet was sending up smoke.

The team went into the building. They stopped the cremation. They got enough bone fragments to identify the remains as Jennings and they also found an odd component. There was aluminum found on the body. It couldn’t have been the bullets because bullets aren’t made from that material. Ernie came to suspect the aluminium was from the explosion overseas. He recreated the explosion and the firm’s supposed explanation for what happened doesn’t fit. The explosion wasn’t caused by a faulty grenade that was stored improperly. It was caused by a C4 explosion that had aluminum. The same kind of bombs that Fortress was known for and so it’s a good thing Ernie got help from Torres’s team.

Torres’s friend as well as teammate Special Agent Knight had come to help out. She talked to their expert Kasie and they were able to trace the bomb signature back to Fortress. They just needed Winslow to tell him who was the bomb maker. They went him to question him, but they found him missing and he disappeared not long after he got a call from his sister. The same sister that he explicitly told them didn’t know he was still alive. It turns out Fortress had got to him by way of his sister. There was a Fortress compound on the island. It was their seat of their CEO Brent Spooner. Spooner who went from being a contractor to running the company.

Spooner was the guy who turned it all around for the company. He received a huge cash influx after that explosion overseas. The explosion was to cover up the theft of forty millions dollars and Spooner funneled that into the company to turn into an elite powerhouse. He was even taking the company public. He was about to become a very wealthy man. So, he was doing his best to cover what Fortress did. He even got to Winslow. One of Fortress’s contacts must have seen Winslow with Torres and Tennant. He got to Winslow the only way they knew how and they were torturing him to find out how much NCIS knew when NCIS came bursting through the doors to rescue him.

They took on the whole compound and live to tell the tale. They rescued Winslow. They also had people rescue his sister and so now he’ll finally get to see her again.

They also arrested Spooner. They had Special Agent Parker do it back on the mainland. But no one got the full story of what happened in Orlando between Torres and Tennant.

THE END!
