Someone robbed a casino. They used a vehicle that was modified to carry weapons. It could shoot bullets and even grenades. It took out a car as it was making its escape from the scene of the crime. But the person who robbed the place wasn’t in the vehicle. He or she controlled it from a remote destination while they spoke through this new vehicle through a speaker. It was therefore going to be complicated to track this person down because that vehicle managed to escape with bags of money and there was no telling in which direction it went or who was operating it at the time of the crime. It could be owned by one person while used by another to rob that casino. There’s just no telling and unfortunately, that was up to NCIS to figure out.

NCIS had to investigate this one because the ammo, as well as grenades used, were military weapons. They shouldn’t have been on the streets much less used by their thief or thieves. But it took a minute before the team got the call about work. Prior to getting that call, the team was all enjoying some much-needed time off. Deeks and Kensi learned they were approved to be Rosa’s foster parents. They couldn’t wait to take the teenager into their home and so the only worrying thing about it was the timing. The couple found out that morning they’ve been approved. They also learned that Rosa will get to come home with them that same night.

The couple was in no way prepared for the responsibility of a teenager in such a short time. Not that they said so to their caseworker. They simply told the woman they were ready and then they made themselves ready. Sam meanwhile was with his dad. His dad has been forgetting stuff. He gets confused sometimes. He thought a woman on the street was his dead wife and he grabbed her. Sam had to call the woman down by telling her that his dad was just confused. He then had to remind that his mother was dead and that part was never going to get easier. But his best friend Callen heard back from Arkady.

Arkady missed out on Callen’s kidnapping because he was on a bender with a woman he just met. It took him three days before he checked his messages and he saw that Callen was in danger and that he had been rescued. He told Callen that he was glad he was okay. He also brought flavored vodka for them to celebrate. Which was typical Arkady. Arkady didn’t say so in front of Ana, but he might have changed his mind about giving Callen his blessing to propose and so Callen just had to get him alone to see if that was the case. The trio was drinking vodka when the call came in. Callen was on leave because he went through something radical.

But everyone else came in. Fatima was helping Roundtree with his dating profile when the call came in and she continued to help him even as they started investigating. It turns out their remote-operated vehicle was either supplied by someone stealing military weapons or an arms dealer was backing this heist. Admiral Kilbride gave the team the name of the local arms dealer in LA. Her name was Nina Barnes. She owns a bakery and she does cake decorating classes. One of which Deeks and Kensi interrupted to get her help on who carried out the heist. And Nina was in fact quite scary.

She knew her business well. She had contacts all across the globe. She even spoke several languages and was able to handle everyone in their native tongue. Nina told the team that she’d find out who brought the grenade launcher into LA very soon. She was doing her thing while Sam brought out his old persona of Switch. He was also joined by Callen who apparently had enough of his break. He came in against advisement and he joined Sam as Switch’s life coach. They forced a rival gang leader to help them. The guy gave them answers. He said that the remote-operated UTV was being hidden on public streets by hiding in a much larger carry-on vehicle. And so the team got a name.

The name was Faria. Faria had something to do with Jacob Griffiths and Gordon Casella. The last two were both engineers who traded another UTV for a grenade launcher and so the team found out that they bought a building together. Kensi and Deeks went to the building. They found Griffiths dead with no sign of Casella. As it happens, Casella had been abducted by Faria. Faria saw the potential in the UTVs. He traded one for a grenade launcher and he started robbing casinos with his one left UTV by making Casella operate it. And Faria refused to surrender when surrounded, which forced Sam to kill him before Faria could reach his gun.

But once they rescued Casella, the team then threw a beach BBQ for Rosa. It was a nice way to welcome her into the NCIS family and even Arkady showed. And it’s good that everyone was there because Callen later proposed to Ana.

And she said “yes”.
