In tonight’s NCIS: Los Angeles episode, NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna was taking on a nearly impossible task. He was moving in with his elderly father. His father has been getting confused lately and he keeps getting lost. It just wasn’t safe anymore for him to live alone. But getting him to move in was an uphill battle. The Major was a stern man. He was used to giving orders, not accepting them. Sam was able to convince his father and for that, he deserves a medal. Sam also arranged to sell his father’s house. It was too much house anyways for simply one person. They sold the house to a young couple who planned on having kids and so the house was going to a family. And that’s what put the Makor’s heart at ease.

Sam was moving the boxes alone because his best friend wasn’t there to help. Callen was actually busy doing something else. He finally took a break from hunting Katya and his break made him realize that he wants to propose to Ana. They’ve been together for a while. They were even living together and they recently got over a rough patch. Callen thought now was the perfect time to propose. He went to Ana’s father Arkady for his blessing. He later found Arkady drinking vodka in the morning. That should have been his first sign to back off yet he persisted. Callen asked Arkady for his blessing and Arkady’s initial response was to laugh.

Arkady thought it was a joke. He stopped laughing once he realized it wasn’t. Arkady refuses to give this union his blessing. He said they shouldn’t get married. He said marriages never work out. He also said that Ana would never marry Callen without his blessing. Callen doesn’t believe that bit. He didn’t understand why Arkady was refusing his permission because he thought it was a simple gesture and so Arkady went an extra step. He said he’s forbidden the marriage. He also doesn’t want them to have kids because that would be a problem too. Arkady was forbidding everything. And Callen couldn’t understand why.

Callen later got called into work. He and Sam were asked to check out a scene after two armed men tried to break into a naval facility and so they went to the scene. This was Callen’s first case in a while. He got put on suspension once Katya’s deep fakes went out. But things are different now. People are starting to forget being sent videos of Callen sexually harassing them. Callen was allowed to join Sam in the field and so that’s when he told his friend about what happened with Arkady. Sam hadn’t seen that one coming. Sam also didn’t believe it would be bad luck if Callen and Ana got married without Arkady’s blessing.

Arkady had actually been very offensive when he implied that as a Gypsy, Callen should know all about curses. Other than that though Callen hadn’t wanted to talk about it. He was still in his feelings about being told “no”. They also had a case to focus on. The two-armed man that cut a link in the fence on a naval base had sent off a bomb. The bomb killed one and put the other in the hospital with severe burns. The team wanted to talk to the lone survivor. To get his name if nothing else. But they were stopped by the man’s lawyer. His lawyer was Jeremy Chambers. Chambers was also representing the father of the man who died.

Chambers was questioned. He didn’t know John Doe’s name. He also said he was hired by someone who wanted to remain anonymous. The team looked into him and it turns out that Chambers was the lawyer for an insurrection group. They were basically domestic terrorists. The leader named James Miller had even started a GoFundMe for the guy in the hospital. He claimed his friend got injured during a “military” training op. Never mind those people were breaking into a federal facility or that they tried to kill themselves rather than be captured. These terrorists thought they were the heroes of the story. And that’s what the team found once they started digging into the lawyer.

Fatima and Roundtree had gotten injured when they went to go check out the trailer of the dead man. It blew upon them and they got injured. They were sitting out the rest of the case. Shyla saw how short-staffed the team was and so she volunteered to go into the field. She just had to clear it past the Admiral. Admiral Kilbride liked her idea so much that he decided to go into the field as well. With backup and the surprise arrival of both Fatima and Rountree who both refused to sit this one out, the team was able to overwhelm the insurrectionists at their compound. They killed and or arrested everyone they could. And Deeks and Kensi got some time to talk.

They found out that Rosa’s case for asylum had been rejected. They, therefore, came to the conclusion that they wanted to adopt Rosa and, while they were at it, they were also going to adopt her friend Pilar as well. Pilar was another teenage girl in the foster care system. She and Rosa both come from the same town in Guatemala. And splitting was just something neither Kensi nor Deeks was willing to do.

Callen meanwhile learned of a way to handle Arkady. If Ana does say yes, they’ll threaten not to invite Arkady to the wedding and that alone would guarantee he gives his blessing.

And Sam got to return to his new house to be welcomed by his dad. His dad didn’t go outside alone. But he did order in beer and that was even better than life on the boat.

THE END!
