Tonight’s episode begins with Jesse who tells Bachelor Nation that Gabby and Rachel are nearing the end of their journeys to find love. Will there be a proposal, or two? This will be the most talked about finale we have ever seen and both Gabby and Rachel are on stage with Jesse to watch it with Bachelor Nation.
Rachel says she is nervous, it is hard to relive everything. Gabby says she had no expectations going into this experience.
Back to Riviera Maya, in Mexico. It’s Rachel’s rose ceremony and Zach asks to speak to her in private. He says the fantasy suite felt a little off and he wants to be honest, he didn’t see the real Rachel, it was the Bachelorette Rachel. He says he has expressed all his love for her, and he feels upset and disappointed that he couldn’t get that from her. She says she has been trying to get clarity and she feels like she got it, she found the missing piece. He can’t wrap his head around it. He did really love her and see a future with her, but he needs to go. She says she wishes she could have gotten there. Rachel walks Zach out, and he leaves. Zach doesn’t know what happened, it feels like it wasn’t real. He now questions her feelings and wonders if it was all an act.
Rachel goes back to the other two men, she first gives Tino a rose, then Aven.
Back to Jesse, he welcomes Zach to the stage with Rachel, he hasn’t seen or spoken to Rachel since that day in Mexico. He apologizes to her, he didn’t mean to call her out for her character, he was just in shock and disbelief. She says she is sorry too, and it was hard to watch back and see how emotional he was. Zach has no regrets, everything happens for a reason and he says it was great getting to know her. Rachel says he is an incredible guy and she appreciates him and this conversation
Rachel’s family arrives at the Mexican resort, she is so happy to see them and can’t believe it is already time for her men to meet them. She hopes they see what she sees. She tells them that this has been the craziest thing over, and she is a bit conflicted. She has feelings for both of them. Today they will meet Aven, tomorrow Tino. Aven is someone who she trusts completely, and he has told her that he is falling in love with her.
Aven arrives with flowers and a bottle, he knows how important this is for Rachel and hopes it goes well. He also gave her father a cigar. He tells them that Rachel is very special to her and he is happy to meet them.
Aven goes to speak to Rachel’s father alone. He asks Aven what is he going to say to him to make him remember him more than the other guy. Aven says he has tried to be open and honest and considered Rachel’s feeling every step of the way. He says they share the same values and the same sense of humor and he told Rachel that he is falling in love with her.
Rachel is with her mother and she really likes Aven. Rachel says Aven would be the most incredible partner, he is so great. Her mother can see how happy she is when she speaks about Aven. Rachel tells her mom that she is so happy.
Aven then speaks to Rachel’s two friends and he says he is not ready for an engagement at the end of this process. Nate thinks this will be a deal breaker.
Rachel sits down with her two friends, she says on paper Aven is a perfect choice. Nate tells her that Aven couldn’t give him an answer about if there would be an engagement at the end. Rachel is shocked, this is not what Aven told Rachel.
This is a really big worry for Rachel, it looks like Aven’s expectations are not the same as hers, and she is shocked. Rachel feels like he lied to her.
Aven and Rachel go outside and talk together. She calls him out on what he told Nate. He tells her that he is trying to be as open about this as he can, this is a big deal. It doesn’t end well between them, at one point he raised his voice to her and apologized. He keeps saying he wants a future with her, he is just not sure if he wants an engagement right now. Aven leaves and Rachel feels shaken up, she doesn’t know how they will move forward from this.
Back to the studio, Jesse says everyone was shocked. Rachel says it was really hard because she walked in so confident with Aven and it was really hard for her.
Time for Gabby to have her family in Mexico and she tells them that there is only Erich left and she loves him. Erich arrives with flowers and a gift box. He tells them that his hometown was amazing and after that, he was convinced that he was falling in love with her. Gabby’s grandfather really likes Erich and he tells her to remember it is not 50/50, it is 90/90. Gabby’s family is really excited for her, they want her to find love, and they want the best for her.
Time for Tino to meet Rachel’s family, she is trying to be happy but she is so sad after what happened yesterday with Aven. She really hopes that Tino is on the same page with her. She tells her family that she is not in the best mood because of yesterday. She tells them that Tino’s family doesn’t like her.
Tino walks in and he is all smiles, Rachel’s mother asks to speak to him. She asks him if his family would be more understanding of their relationship, and he says absolutely.
Tino then speaks to Rachel’s dad and asked what happened in his hometown. He says he was shocked by what happened but he knows they will love her. Tino says Rachel means the world to him and he will make her happy forever. Tino is happy about the visit, he got a huge stamp of approval from her family.
Jesse tells Rachel that he wants to circle back to her conversation with Aven about his maybe not wanting to get engaged. She says it was hard, she thought they were on the same page and they were not.
Back to Rachel and Aven, it is her last date with him and she is extremely nervous to see him. She was completely confident, he told her that he was 100% ready for an engagement, but he told her family something different. She needs to talk to him to see if they are completely on the same page. He tells her that he is deeply sorry for how he made her feel, he never wants to be the reason why she cries or she is upset. He says the next step in this is to make sure they are on the right track. He wants more time with her, to visit her in Florida, before there is an engagement. She is so emotional, she tells him that she hates the way they left things, and it is hard for her to have her family tell her something that he never told her. She thought they were on the same page and she feels so blindsided. He says he wants to leave there with her, and he is trying to fight for that. He was caught up in saying he might have been ready for this in two weeks, but his feelings haven’t changed for her and he wants a life with her after this. She wants someone who wants her, she wants to be engaged and she is not willing to sacrifice that at the end of the day. She tells him she can’t move forward, it’s over. She is hysterical, she says her heart is breaking. He has no idea what he is going to do, he saw life with her. Aven leaves and says he knows they have gotten there. Meanwhile, Rachel is sad, it’s hard to know that it’s over.
Aven is in the studio and he goes on stage to speak to Rachel in front of Jesse. Rachel says it is bitter-sweet to see Aven. He says he is super nervous, he has been very anxious to see her, and wants to say that he is extremely sorry for how it ended, he blindsided her and it wasn’t fair, he let her down and he is truly sorry. Rachel says it is hard because it is not like anything went wrong, Aven just knew what was right for him at that time. Aven says a big part of it is that he didn’t know what she needed and wanted. He says he should have communicated to Rachel where he was at a lot better.
Rachel and Gabby are back in the studio with Jesse. Time to look back at Gabby’s final date with Erich. She says he makes her feel safe and seen and she hopes he is at the end of this proposing to her. He tells her that he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with her, but he doesn’t want to rush things. She wants to know if he wants to walk away engaged. He says he wants to get to know her better and getting engaged before that is not how things usually go. She is upset, she leaves the room. She doesn’t want to force him, but he said he wants to date her. She doesn’t know what to do, should she walk away? She says this is a big fat dumpster fire.
The big question right now is, how is this going to end?
