Tonight’s The Good Doctor episode begins with Shuan waking up and doing his daily routine, then Lea, and they are so very different. They are being filmed for a reality show. Shaun arrives at the hospital and the camera is still running. Meanwhile, Marcus is also doing a TV spot. Audrey announces that Shuan and Alex will both be in charge of a surgical case and evaluated for their OR performance, delegate responsibility, manage junior residence and stand on their feet.

Shaun is in ER attending a woman who has second-degree burns, they rush her into the OR. Then, a firefighter comes in from a fall, this is Alex’s case. Another one goes to the OR, they have to open him up.

Marcus is being interviewed, he says Shaun is an asset to any hospital and they accept him the way he is. But he admits, there was a time when he didn’t think Shaun would be a good fit, but that was in the past.

Next, they interview Jordan and Asher and she says Shaun has superpowers.

Shaun’s surgery was a success, but there is significant swelling on the woman’s face and Shaun says it doesn’t make sense. The patient’s little daughter walks into the room and looks at her mom and wants to go home.

Shaun is with Jordan and is trying to figure out why the graphs are failing. He tells Jordan to double-check her labs. She actually admits to skipping one step because the patient was uncomfortable, and she gets annoyed that the camera is focused right on her.

Alex and Jordan go to see Grant, the firefighter, and tell him that he has an unstable lumbar fracture, and that he will need extensive surgery to stabilize it. After this kind of fusion, his spine, he won’t be able to be a firefighter anymore. Grant tells them to come up with a different solution so he can get back to his team.

Jordan is upset, she tells Audrey that Shaun thinks she cause the graph issues because she skipped a step and it was all on camera.

Alex may have come up with an idea for Grant, he asks Audrey her opinion and she says his patient his call.

Lea and Shaun are being interviewed about what they love about each other. Jordan comes in, she tells Shaun that the graph issues are not her fault. Shaun asks to see the footage of the surgery, he can’t see anything that went wrong. Then he asks to go back further when the patient came in. His patient’s problem is his mistake, he didn’t notice the actual degree of the burns.

Shaun goes to see Aaron without the cameras, he tells him that he missed that his patient had third-degree burns, not second. Aaron tells him to do another surgery and fix it. Shaun says the cameras are distracting him and he thinks that is why he made a mistake. Aaron tells him that he doesn’t need to be perfect all the time.

Lea doesn’t like that Shaun made a mistake and it is going to appear on the show. The producer understands and decides not to show the footage because the show is supposed to be about them getting married.

Alex tells Audrey that she should take the lead on his patients’ surgery, he is not willing to risk Grant’s life so he can take the lead.

Audrey and Alex are in surgery, and so is Shaun’s patient. Jordan tells Shaun that he is a great doctor and his mistake, gave her confidence that she will find her superpower too. Shaun tells the cameras to go, he doesn’t want them distracting him.

Grant is out of surgery, Alex tells him that they repaired his lumbar fracture but they had to switch surgeries, he can’t do his job anymore – his body was giving out and he couldn’t let him die. Grant says he trusted him, but he is very upset.

Shaun is out of surgery, it was a success – Jordan says he had one of his visions, and he saved the day. Shaun says he wants his mistake aired, great surgeons do make mistakes and are inspirational.

Audrey writes up a patient who she didn’t know was going through domestic violence. Audrey tells her they will figure it out.

Shaun’s patient is awake, her daughter visits her and hugs her.

Lea admits to the camera that for a long time she didn’t think she could be with Shaun, they were so different. But she changed, together they are enough, more than enough. Shaun and Lea get a surprise, a party with their closest friends at the hospital, including Claire.

THE END!
