The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Allison Lanier has joined Y&R as a Summer Newman recast and replaces Hunter King in the role. Lanier’s Summer will be making her Genoa City debut and will be involved in some hot new storylines.
Of course, this is great news for “Skyle” fans since it means Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will eventually have his wife by his side.
Summer and Kyle have become a solid couple for the show, so this will offer the chance to keep that couple going.
However, drama is always just around the corner in GC – and no one’s romance is truly safe!
There’s always the potential for some relationship shakeups, so we could see some trouble once Summer’s back in town with Kyle.
That’s especially true since Diane Jenkins (Susan Walter) is bound to cause issues!
Kyle’s mom has returned from the “dead” and could become a mother-in-law nightmare as far as Summer’s concerned.
Will Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) daughter really be good enough for Kyle in Diane’s eyes?
Diane claims to approve of Summer as Kyle’s wife, but we’ll see how she really feels once they have an opportunity to interact in person.
Things could head south in Kyle and Summer’s marriage if they don’t work hard to stay on the same page.
Regardless, it’s nice to hear some Summer Newman recast updates and know the character of Summer will continue to be part of the story.
Allison Lanier played Annabelle on Amazon’s Red Oaks series, but this marks her first role on a daytime drama.
It can take some time for viewers to adjust to recasts, but Y&R fans will want to give Lanier a warm welcome.
Lanier will no doubt put her own spin on Summer and carve out a new place for herself in the role, so we look forward to seeing her version! As other details come in, we’ll keep you posted.
