The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) may be arrested for fraud. Will Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) end up taking Victoria Newman-Locke’s (Amelia Heinle) husband to jail?
Ashland was able to escape the crimes of the distant past, but his more recent ones could be his downfall.
Since Ashland seemingly faked his illness to dupe Victoria into a marriage and a merger, there’s certainly a case for fraud here.
Ashland’s ex-wife Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) also went down for fraud after she misrepresented the health of her business to Fenmore’s.
That combined with the fact that Tara stole from her own company landed her behind bars.
Y&R fans will recall how Tara was dramatically hauled off in handcuffs, so perhaps it’ll be Ashland’s turn to face a similar fate soon.
After all, Ashland surely committed fraud if he misrepresented his own health as part of a plan for selfish gain.
Of course, this is a tricky situation now that Newman Enterprises has become Newman-Locke.
Victor has to worry about the reputation of the company he built, but the desire to see Ashland pay could win out.
Perhaps Victor will think this is the best way to cut ties with Ashland completely and finally be rid of him.
On the other hand, Victor might intend to handle things a different way.
It could be Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) who goes rogue and turns the evidence over to the cops.
Regardless, there’s no guarantee that Ashland will stick around based on the story Y&R’s telling.
The show is bringing Robert Newman in as a recast due to a COVID-19 protocol blunder, which led to Richard Burgi’s firing.
That doesn’t mean Newman will stick around permanently in the role.
It could be more of a temporary recast situation to wrap up Ashland’s arc. If that’s the case, Ashland might head to prison for his exit.
Whatever the case, the show could use the drama of Ashland being read his rights and dragged to a jail cell!
With so many other storylines fizzling lately, let’s hope this one builds to an exciting climax. As other news rolls in, we’ll bring you updates.
