The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will find a new excuse for more Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) time. Will Devon push Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) to her breaking point with all his demands?
Y&R fans know Devon was a perfect bone marrow match for Dominic, so he was able to step up and save the day.
No one is trying to diminish Devon’s role in helping Dominic, but that shouldn’t change anything when it comes to his parental role.
It’s bad enough that Devon went back on his word in the sperm donor agreement and inserted himself into Abby’s family with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).
Now Chance and Abby are stuck having to include Devon and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) in every aspect of their lives with Dominic.
It was honestly sad watching Chance wait downstairs with Amanda while Devon and Abby tended to the baby upstairs – like Chance was some stranger instead of the legal father of this child.
It’s true that Chance has some work to do when it comes to recovering from his trauma, but that’s exactly what he intends to do now.
Chance is moving forward with therapy plans and will hope to become the best dad he can be.
Unfortunately, Devon is all about himself in this storyline – and he’ll prove it in the dialogue for the upcoming February 28 episode.
After Abby texts Devon to say Dominic’s recovery is going well, Devon will talk to Amanda about Dom coming to stay with them as soon as the doctor clears it.
Devon will want Dominic for “at least a couple days” so they can “make up for lost time.”
It’s baffling and ridiculous for Devon to be that concerned about a specific number of days with Dominic, who just underwent a medical procedure to save his life.
Amanda will also mention how Devon has been “more than reasonable suspending their custody agreement,” which is laughable considering reasonable is about the last thing Devon has been!
Nothing about ditching a sperm donor plan, overriding the mother’s wishes and calling yourself “Daddy” is reasonable.
Devon will suggest he’d like to spend even more time with Dominic – and later during the week of February 28-March 4, he’ll feel the need to protect Dom’s best interests.
Devon may end up nitpicking over Chance’s therapy or acting like this break due to Dominic’s recovery has caused his own bond with the boy to suffer.
Whatever the case, Devon will voice more concerns to Amanda during the week of March 7-11.
If those concerns involve Dominic and this leads to additional shared custody issues, Abby may be driven to her breaking point!
