The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, May 20, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will ban Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) from Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) while a sympathetic Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) spies.
At The Grand Phoenix on Friday’s Y&R episode, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will interrupt Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) conversation with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).
When Ashley starts ranting about what Phyllis is trying to pull and alludes to her history, Phyllis will get the wrong idea.
However, Ashley won’t be talking about Phyllis and Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) recent romp in the sack.
This will just be about Phyllis’ decision to let Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) stay in her hotel.
Phyllis will explain that she was trying to keep an eye on Diane until Kyle found out she was alive.
Ashley will be glad to know Diane has been ordered to leave, so they’ll be on the same page about protecting Kyle, Summer and Jack.
Phyllis will hope that means Ashley doesn’t mind if she gets close to “certain members of the family.”
Ashley will honestly think she can handle anything if it means getting Diane out of all their lives!
After Ashley leaves, Phyllis will tell Amanda how horrible Diane is.
Amanda will also find out Phyllis and Jack’s relationship progressed to an amazing level, so she’ll push Phyllis to hold onto that connection.
At the Abbott house, Kyle and Summer will drop hints to Jack about a possible way to stay in Genoa City.
Summer won’t want to get Phyllis’ hopes up yet, so Jack will have no problem keeping it quiet.
When talk turns to Harrison missing Ashland, Jack will offer offscreen updates on the cancer lie.
That’ll leave Kyle and Summer flipping out as they wonder how Ashland could do something so disgusting.
Kyle will think what Ashland did was extra twisted since it affected Harrison, but he’ll eventually realize Diane did almost the same thing to him.
When Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) returns following a run, she’ll get Jack’s approval on staying there a couple more days.
Jack will want to throw a cocktail party and invite people closer to Allie’s age, but she’ll turn him down and suggest she’s used to being buried in a lab.
Ashley will overhear and think that sounds like her, too.
There’ll be some nice bonding scenes as Ashley and Allie discuss how they like to have plans set in stone.
Ashley will realize life’s been throwing a lot of unexpected things at Allie, so she’ll offer some support.
At Society, Victoria will run into Ashland and mention that she boxed up some of his remaining things at the house.
Ashland will suggest he could pick them up at Victoria’s convenience, but she’ll think he should send for them and avoid carrying anything too heavy.
That’ll lead to Victoria and Ashland checking in with each other regarding their mending crash injuries.
After Ashland mentions Harrison and how he sees no reason to leave town right now, Victoria will understand.
In the park, Kyle and Summer will watch as Harrison runs off to feed the ducks.
It won’t be long until Ashland pops up, so Harrison will rush back over to greet “Father” and hop into his arms.
Ashland will want to enjoy some time alone with Harrison, but Summer will snap that it’s not going to happen.
Nearby, Victoria will watch as Kyle sends Harrison to play with some other kids and berates Ashland soon after.
Kyle will declare that they know what Ashland did – and it changes everything! Although Ashland will acknowledge his mistakes and regrets, he won’t think any of this changes his relationship with his son.
“To be clear, he is not your son,” Summer will fire back. “Tara lied about that like you have lied about so many things.”
Ashland will keep trying to make amends and score time with Harrison, but Kyle will insist they already said no.
After Kyle pushes Ashland to avoid making a scene and warns him to go, Ashland will do what he’s told.
Moments later, Victoria will come out of hiding and get a hug as well as Summer’s support.
After Summer wonders why Ashland is still in town, she’ll question why he can’t do one decent thing and just leave them all alone for good.
Once Victoria heads to Newman Enterprises, Kyle will talk to Summer about the prospect of staying in GC being complicated with Diane and Ashland in the equation.
On the Crimson Lights patio, Ashland will gaze at pics of Harrison and Victoria on his phone.
There’ll also be a wedding night flashback that Ashland has – and Victoria will seem to be having the same one in her office.
Since Victoria’s feelings will obviously be bubbling up again, she’ll call Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to suggest they should take the trip her mom wanted after all.
When Jack finds Phyllis in The Grand Phoenix lobby, she’ll suggest they could watch Diane check out together.
Phyllis will admit part of her is glad Kyle, Summer and Harrison are going back to Italy due to Diane’s presence in town.
That’ll leave Jack in a tight spot considering what he knows.
Back at the coffeehouse, there’ll be some flashbacks to celebrate Kate Linder’s 40th anniversary as Esther Valentine.
Esther will take a walk down memory lane as Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) makes some much-needed adjustments to her mom’s dating app profile.
Right after Chloe posts the changes, Esther’s phone will ding and leave her excited over someone being interested.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Esther will meet an intriguing new man soon, so stay tuned!
