The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, October 21 Recap – Diane’s Money-Laundering Mule Trap - Blackmail Stuns Jack

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, October 21, teases that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will reveal she was caught in a money-laundering mule trap, so her double blackmail confession will stun Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will fill Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) in on Diane and Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) apparent connection.

Although Phyllis will know her plan could make Jack mad again, she’ll think it’ll be worth it to protect him along with Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier).

In Costa Rica, Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will make love following their day at the beach.

As they canoodle, Summer will suggest that Kyle didn’t feel truly whole until Diane came back into his life, so he’ll acknowledge that there’s no more unfinished business.

At the ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will introduce Tucker to Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales), who’ll ask questions under the guise of doing a Tucker profile.

Tucker will realize Talia is awfully fixated on his time in LA, so he’ll just crack jokes and offer vague answers.

Once Talia leaves, Tucker will confront Nikki about what she’s up to. Nikki will contend that if Tucker and Diane are collaborating, she wants to know why.

If Diane is planning something that’ll harm the people Nikki cares about, she’ll vow to hold Tucker personally responsible.

Nikki will suggest she’d like to think if Tucker could help protect her loved ones, he would step up and share info.

Tucker will claim he’d like to help, but he’ll say he’s sorry he can’t.

In Jack’s office, Diane will reflect on LA and admit she crossed paths with Tucker, who found out things she had to do to survive.

Before Jack passes judgment, Diane will urge him to get the truth.

Diane will talk about needing a fake identity to start over and turning to a criminal for help.

Jack will assume Diane took the identity of a dead woman to become Taylor Jensen.

Once Diane became Taylor, she met a man named Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), who was charming, attractive and showed her the good life.

Jeremy showered Diane with gifts and trips, so Diane felt truly taken care of for the first time.

Unfortunately, Diane realized too late that was Jeremy’s trick. When Diane reveals she was being used as a mule, Jack will think she means smuggling drugs.

However, Diane will insist she was being used to smuggle bundles of cash, which were placed in her luggage by Jeremy’s driver or assistant when she wasn’t looking.

Later, Jeremy would remove the bundles to keep Diane in the dark.

Y&R fans will see flashbacks as Diane recalls moments in her romance with Jeremy – like when he invited her to spend time with him on his private island.

Jeremy was an international financier who flew all around the world finding opportunities and making deals.

Diane would often join him in exotic places, but Jeremy always traveled ahead first.

That didn’t raise any red flags for Diane since Jeremy had business meetings, but then he was late to pick her up from the airport in Barbados.

Diane just happened to check her suitcase and saw stacks of money hidden away.

After Diane put the cash back, she pretended to nap later and watched Jeremy remove it.

Diane then followed Jeremy and saw that he was depositing the money at the bank.

Once Diane wrapped her head around what was happening, she was shocked and devastated.

Although Diane tried to end things, the man who arranged Diane’s new identity worked for Jeremy. It turns out Jeremy targeted Diane because he knew he could control her.

Diane was forced to keep up her mule work until Jeremy was tipped off to his looming arrest.

Jeremy instructed Diane to keep her mouth shut and vowed to do the same for her.

After Jeremy’s trial and conviction, Diane was finally able to focus on getting her life back on track.

The whole ordeal helped Diane see that she had to rely on herself instead of some wealthy guy.

Diane then went to therapy and put in the work so she could reconnect with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

About six months before Diane reached out to Jack, she had a random run-in with Tucker – who was indeed the man in the Bentley.

Tucker knew people involved with Jeremy, so he somehow uncovered evidence of crimes that the feds had overlooked.

As Diane explains all this, Jack will realize she was being blackmailed from two different directions.

Diane will admit that Tucker found Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) and offered info about Keemo Nguyen’s (Philip Moon) house.

After Diane says Tucker wanted her to keep tabs on Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Jack will fume over her spying on his sister.

Diane will insist she couldn’t risk going to jail or having Tucker reveal that she was alive too soon.

It would’ve robbed Diane of the chance to explain her side of the story to Kyle.

Diane will also explain that she sold all Jeremy’s expensive gifts to buy Keemo’s house – and then Jack will know the rest.

Jack won’t seem to have any sympathy, but Diane will beg him to understand that she was trapped and trying to survive.

Since Phyllis and Nikki were so determined to dig up dirt, Diane will note that she wanted Jack to hear this from her.

When Phyllis walks in, she’ll ask if she’s interrupting and will sense that something’s wrong.

After Jack takes off for an appointment, Phyllis will get in Diane’s face and suggest that whatever just happened here doesn’t seem too good for her.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will hold out hope for Jack’s forgiveness, so stay tuned!
