The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a hot Y&R preview features Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) fierce feud. The promo insists “the ultimate bad girl is back” and highlights some shocking Diane moments – including some familiar showdowns with Phyllis.
Now that Susan Walters has returned to the role of Diane Jenkins, you can bet Diane’s feud with Phyllis is going to reignite in a big way.
The preview video offers a little taste of that with some blast-from-the past clips of Phyllis’ fury.
“Diane is the problem!” Phyllis shouts in one flashback.
Phyllis loathed Diane once upon a time and certainly won’t be happy about her old rival rising from the “dead.”
There’s another flashback of Phyllis punching Diane in the face – and that’s honestly something we’d love to see recreated in the present!
Vicious attacks are a big part of soaps and are always entertaining.
Diane is one of the few people who’s got what it takes to hold her own against Phyllis and truly get down in the mud with her.
Walters’ portrayal has a great dangerous quality that’s constantly bubbling just under the surface.
The preview video also features some fantastic Jack and Diane snippets. “You think I’m stalking you?!” Diane asks Jack angrily in another flashback.
Of course, Diane is just as shady now.
Although Diane is trying to help Jack connect with Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), she’s apparently done some major detective work to even figure out he had a granddaughter.
Diane is resorting to this text mystery and playing games with Jack, so her motives are questionable.
This isn’t just something Diane is doing out of the kindness of her heart. It could be a play to get Jack back – or at least Phyllis might see it that way later!
Naturally, Diane might argue that she’s trying to make amends for past mistakes.
Diane let people believe she was dead all this time, so the show will need to deliver an explanation and help everyone understand Diane’s perspective.
The promo wraps up with a shot of Diane aka “Taylor Jensen” looking satisfied over her plan working like a charm.
Diane will feel confident in her Allie strategy and will soon have a big surprise in store for Jack, Phyllis and everyone else she left behind.
