The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) feud could soon be back on. Will Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) reignite the Abbott and Newman hostility with explosive results?
There are some good reasons to think Diane might spark a new round of conflict, so let’s talk about those.
For starters, Y&R’s 50th anniversary is coming up in March 2023, so what better way to celebrate than by reviving the classic Abbott and Newman war?
Of course, it’ll take some time to set that up, so the writers may work on that in the months ahead.
That brings us to Diane, who’s trying to win Jack over while repairing her relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Since Kyle has decided to give Diane a chance to prove herself, Jack isn’t going to stand in the way of that.
Unfortunately, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will start scheming against Diane – no doubt with Victor’s full support.
Nikki will find an ally in Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), so that’ll be another reason for Jack to get riled up.
It’d be one thing if Diane screwed up again on her own, but Jack won’t be pleased if he feels like Diane is being set up to fail.
That’s especially true since Diane’s going to strengthen her bond with Kyle as well as Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez).
If there’s a Newman plot that’s detrimental to Kyle and Harrison, you can bet Jack’s going to fight back.
Jack seems to be letting his guard down with Diane a bit too, so there’s the potential for a renewed romance here.
If Jack actually falls for Diane, he’ll surely want to protect her.
As a bonus, all this could bring some awkwardness for Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) as they build a new romance of their own.
Noah talked to Allie about the old Abbott and Newman rivalry when they first met, so that could’ve been setting the stage for the drama to come.
It’d be fun to put Noah and Allie in a Romeo and Juliet type of situation.
Kyle and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) could land in the same boat since their marriage involves the same rival families.
There’d be a goldmine of drama in bringing back Jack and Victor’s war, which would force plenty of relatives and other Genoa City residents to choose sides.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor and Jack could end up stuck in another fierce battle, so stay tuned.
