The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, May 23 Recap – Kyle Lets Diane Meet Harrison – Victor Rejects Lame Ashland Plan

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 23, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will let Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) meet Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) while Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) rejects a too safe Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) plan.

In the park, Diane will interrupt Kyle and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) conversation by remarking that this is such a coincidence.

Kyle will doubt it’s a coincidence at all, but Diane will offer to get fresh air somewhere else if he’s uncomfortable.

After Harrison runs over to show off a big leaf, Kyle will offer an introduction to Diane and suggest she’s someone who knew him when he was a little boy.

Diane will talk to Harrison about the giant palm tree leaves in California before Summer pipes up about getting home.

Once Diane tells Harrison goodbye, she’ll thank Kyle and seem touched over that opportunity to meet her grandson.

At the coffeehouse soon after, Kyle will point out that Diane respected his boundaries.

Summer will worry that Kyle wants things to work out too badly and will question if he wants to give Diane more access to Harrison.

When Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) shows up with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Connor will show Harrison some games on his tablet while the adults chat nearby.

Summer will quiz Chelsea about all sorts of Fenmore’s details and will have a feeling Chelsea’s talent will be in demand.

Later, Kyle will get Summer to admit she was gathering fashion intel just in case.

However, Summer’s instinct will still be to protect Harrison and perhaps stay in Milan.

As for Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson), she’ll have concerns about Dwight (Sam McMurray) seeming too eager since he’ll want to meet up with Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) right away.

Chloe will fear Dwight’s going to scam her mom or try to sleep with her, but Esther won’t think he’s going to do either of those things today in a public park!

Even so, Chloe will spy on Dwight as he brings Esther flowers and has a lovely conversation with her.

After Chloe gets busted, Dwight will realize Esther’s daughter is just being protective and will think it’s sweet.

Once Esther shoos Chloe away, Chloe will hang back and watch Esther bond with Dwight over the cleaning products he markets.

The date will go well and will result in Dwight asking for a second one on the app.

In Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) office, Victor will find out about his daughter’s imminent spa trip with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Since Victor will think it’s such a great idea, Victoria will wonder if he’s plotting some sort of move against Ashland.

However, Victoria will think they should all learn to coexist and will mention that Ashland is staying in town for Harrison.

Victor won’t buy that and will be concerned about Ashland’s continued manipulation.

Victoria will admit she still has feelings for Ashland, but she’ll be trying hard to let go.

Since Victoria’s goal will be to exorcise Ashland from her brain and heart, she’ll hope this Switzerland trip will do the trick.

At Society on Monday’s Y&R episode, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will take jabs about his time in a Peruvian jail – though Ashland will never admit he was behind that.

When Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) shows up, she’ll blast Ashland and urge him to save his apologies unless there’s a written confession attached.

Lauren will also mention that she helped send Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) to prison, so she’ll hope to make sure Ashland joins his ex-wife there.

Once Ashland leaves, Lauren will rant about Michael continuing to work for Victor.

Michael will try to reassure Lauren that there’s no danger, but she’ll leave in a huff.

Afterward, Michael will make a pitch to Victor about hitting Ashland with a barrage of legal action.

Although Michael will try to sell Victor on civil suits that expose Ashland’s fraud, Victor won’t want the company or Victoria to look weak.

Michael will argue that it’ll never go public since Ashland will surrender first.

The goal will be to make Ashland miserable with their efforts and get him to leave town as part of the settlement.

Victor won’t have faith in this plan since Ashland has fought off hundreds of lawsuits already.

Michael will get accused of playing it safe because of Lauren, but he’ll wonder if Victor has a better idea.

Victor will mention Harrison and how he doesn’t believe that’s the reason Ashland is sticking around.

Michael will counter that Harrison might be since he heard Kyle and Summer were delaying their return to Milan.

After Victor ponders that for a moment, he’ll determine that maybe Harrison really is Ashland’s Achilles’ heel.

Back in the park, Diane will spot Ashland looking glum and suggest they’re both down in the dumps.

Once introductions are exchanged, Diane will realize Ashland is Harrison’s other father.

Ashland will find out Diane is Kyle’s mother, so he’ll think they have more in common than just a bad day.

Over with Summer again, she’ll express concern after Kyle talks about how good Diane was with Harrison.

Kyle will know the bad Diane stories about are true, but he’ll feel like the loving memories he has are true, too.

Summer will just want Kyle to take his time on deciding anything and know that he can change his mind later.

Kyle will acknowledge that unless he cuts Diane off completely, Harrison will eventually find out who she is.

Once that happens, Kyle will know they can’t suddenly remove her from Harrison’s life.

Summer will understand, but she’ll feel like Kyle’s decision to let Diane back in has to be about him – not Harrison, Diane or anyone else.

That said, Summer won’t be so sure letting Diane back in is the way to heal.

Kyle will sense that Summer doesn’t want him to reconnect, but he’ll be grateful she’s not forcing any opinions on him.

Summer will vow to respect whatever Kyle decides, but she’ll also promise to make Diane regret it if she hurts Kyle or Harrison.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will have a lot to sort out in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned!
