Diane’s whole redemption hinges on some mysterious psychologist who supposedly led to her transformation.
This woman wasn’t afraid to call Diane out on her “crap” as Diane so eloquently put it.
Instead of letting Diane make excuses for her behavior, this therapist helped Diane see why she needed to adjust her attitude.
Diane credits her psychologist for helping her turn her life around, so we have to wonder who this amazing mystery lady is.
In the May 9 episode, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will be rather fixated on this therapist.
Diane will face tons of questions about her credentials, how long their sessions have been going on and more.
It’ll seem like Abby and Ashley are trying to catch Diane in a lie – like maybe they doubt that this therapist exists or that she is who she claims to be.
Since they’re going to wonder, we might as well wonder, too. Is Diane telling the truth about this mysterious psychologist?
That seems like something that’d be pretty easy to check, so Diane would be foolish to use the doc as the key player of her story without some evidence.
We have to believe there’s indeed a therapist, but it still feels like maybe this woman could play a bigger role eventually.
The mentions of this therapist are becoming excessive, so someone like Phyllis – who has a knack for snooping and finding people – may track this lady down.
Of course, a legit psychologist isn’t going to violate Diane’s privacy and break confidentiality.
The therapist surely wouldn’t risk losing her license, but Diane claims she’s an open book and might push this woman to back her up.
Regardless, all these therapist mentions are intriguing and make it feel like this woman has the potential to show up – perhaps with a very different view than the rosy one Diane has offered.
Could this be the show’s way of setting up a new Y&R character?
