The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be heartbroken over her Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) split. It looks like Sally will lash out over a drastic decision that’s made for her protection, so let’s discuss the relationship drama that’s brewing.
In Y&R’s July 14 episode, Adam hints about a vague plan that he’d rather leave Sally out of.
Afterward, Adam ultimately fights to save Sally’s job by assuring Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) that his influence will no longer be a problem – and the reason is Adam’s going to break up with Sally.
Adam and Sally are madly in love, so why is he taking it this far?
This Newman Media CEO job honestly isn’t that prestigious in the grand scheme of things.
Adam probably wouldn’t hurt Sally like this unless there was something bigger going on.
However, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) warned Sally about Adam going to unpredictable extremes when he gets wounded.
Jack seemed concerned about Sally becoming collateral damage in whatever Adam might do next – and now that seems poised to happen.
Sally has been incredibly worried about the sinister path Adam is headed down, particularly when it comes to his involvement with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).
The stage has been set for Adam to help Ashland seek his final revenge, but it seems like he wants to leave Sally out of it completely for her own protection.
There’s a chance Adam will help Ashland fake his own death and set the other Newmans up to take the fall.
Even if Adam has something else in mind, he obviously doesn’t want Sally caught up in his plans.
In other words, Sally is becoming collateral damage in terms of her soon-to-be broken heart, but Adam will be sparing her from far worse consequences in his eyes.
Adam has talked about Sally being guilty by association if she’s connected to him, so he doesn’t want that tie in place for this new vengeful chapter.
Naturally, this means Sally could face total devastation and fury until Adam’s whole plan comes to light.
Just like when Victoria seemingly turned on her family and made them all think she was loyal to Ashland, Adam may feel the need to lie to Sally and fully convince her that they’re over.
Adam will be risking a lot since there’s no guarantee Sally will want to reunite after he breaks her heart like this.
Sally could have some serious reservations about picking up where they left off down the road, but Adam may hope he can dump her for now and walk it back later.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam may be playing with fire – and Sally could get burned despite his best efforts to shield her.
