The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) medical condition may cancel her tour. Will a vocal cord problem threaten Tessa’s career?
Tessa mentioned that she’d been battling a sore throat in Y&R’s June 8 episode, so she drank some Chamomile tea and was trying to shake it ahead of her upcoming tour.
Of course, there’s no sign of Tessa actually going on tour at all, so something is probably going to put that tour on hold.
Summer preview spoilers have been pointing to an unexpected challenge for Tessa and Mariah Copeland (Camyn Grimes).
That obviously isn’t a tour since Mariah and Tessa are fully prepared for one to happen – not to mention it’s not their first rodeo when it comes to dealing with time apart.
The show seems to have a far worse challenge in mind, so Tessa’s throat issues could prove more serious than they initially appeared to be.
This could easily be a case of some polyps or nodules that will lead to vocal cord surgery and force Tessa out of the limelight.
The timing couldn’t be worse since Tessa needs to be out there promoting her new album.
Naturally, this could cause a major career setback and financial risk as well, so all of that could affect Mariah and Tessa’s adoption plans.
It takes money to raise a child, so that’s something Tessa and Mariah will have to keep in mind.
However, Mariah surely makes a decent salary at Jabot – and Tessa has perhaps saved a substantial amount from her previous musical success.
That tour with Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) had to be pretty profitable.
The financial aspect might be ignored if the show’s goal here is simply to keep Tessa in town and give “Teriah” a reason to move forward with the adoption sooner than planned.
Tessa and Mariah were going to delay things due to the tour, but that may not be necessary anymore.
Nevertheless, Tessa may also have to deal with fears about her recovery and whether she can make a career comeback.
Mariah might have to support Tessa through a difficult chapter as they move into the next one for their adoption story.
