The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, August 23 Recap – Adam Pushes Kevin to Betray Chance – Billy Upsets Chelsea

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for recap for Tuesday, August 23, teases that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will push Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) to betray Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) while Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) mistake upsets Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).

At home, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will flash back to Billy’s pep talk before telling Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that she’s not going to wallow.

Instead, Victoria will want to take bold steps forward in her new life after Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).

After Victoria talks about a video call and insists all the department heads should know about it, she’ll reveal that the topic will be her plans for taking Newman Enterprises into the future.

Victoria will feel like this is when her true leadership at the company begins.

At the ranch, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will give Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) a hard time over the cover-up, but he’ll know that his dad is predictably protective at his core.

After Nick talks about what a gamble all this was, Victor will argue that he’ll never stop protecting the safety of his family.

Next on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will speak with Victor about Chance’s decision being the right one.

Victor will want to thank Chance later, but Abby won’t think that’s a good idea.

At Chancellor-Winters, Billy will let Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) know that he’s stepping away from the podcasts to focus solely on being her COO.

Although Lily will worry Billy might resent her down the road, he’ll be adamant that this is where he wants to be and where he belongs.

On the GCAC rooftop, Chelsea will spot Adam on the Newman Media website.

Adam will admit he’s catching up on the Ashland saga and will drop hints about there being more to the story.

Once Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) arrives, she’ll talk to Chelsea alone about the podcast.

Chelsea will feel like she’s really able to let loose with Billy, so Chloe will be glad he gave her a safe place to land.

After Chelsea picks up on something being wrong, Chloe will offer a vague response.

Chelsea will acknowledge her own animosity with Sally and will suspect that’s why Chloe’s staying tight-lipped.

Once Billy shows up, he’ll speak with Chelsea privately to reveal his decision to walk away from the podcasts.

Billy will insist he has to focus on his day job, but he’ll think Chelsea should take over on her own.

Chelsea will object to Billy walking away from something he loves and will think he’s going to realize he made a mistake.

When that happens, Chelsea will vow to find a million ways to say “I told you so.”

Billy will smile and sarcastically suggest that’s comforting before taking off. After Chloe watches nearby, she’ll seem concerned over Chelsea’s vibe with Billy and will warn her not to go there.

Once Billy makes it back to the office, he’ll give Lily a yin and yang necklace.

Billy will suggest it represents how they’re two essential parts that are stronger together, so Lily will thank him with a kiss.

In the park, Kevin will reel as Chance admits he didn’t take the evidence to the DA.

Chance will argue that there’s no probable reason to believe a crime was committed and will call this a tragic accident.

Kevin will run down all the proof they uncovered and will think it’ll be bad for both of them if it comes to light.

Once Chance talks about his conclusion being in the police report, he’ll note that some of the info was redacted and not available to the public.

Kevin will feel like the truth has a way of being exposed and will rant about how he made a commitment to being a better person for his family.

Chance will counter that he put everything in that report and that no one is trying to get away with anything.

Kevin will act like Chance is covering for Victor, but Chance will insist he didn’t want to drag the family through the ordeal of potential charges.

Ashland’s accidental death would cause a scandal that would have a real victim – and that’s Victoria.

Kevin will contend that it should’ve been the DA’s call, not Chance’s. Meanwhile, Adam will appear around the corner and eavesdrop on Chance’s tense discussion with Kevin.

Kevin will be upset over Victor getting away with his actions, but Chance will thank Kevin for his help and maintain that it’s time to move on.

Once Chance ends up at the ranch after being summoned, Victor will hope to thank him man to man. Chance will snap that he doesn’t want or need Victor’s thanks.

Back with Kevin, he’ll get cornered by Adam in the park. Adam will confess to overhearing and will think Chance left Kevin in “one hell of a spot.”

After Adam talks about how convenient it is to have a son-in-law on the force, he’ll assure Kevin that Victor will keep Chance squeaky clean.

Adam will act like Chance will have no problem leaving Kevin out to dry.

Kevin will protest that Chance wouldn’t do that, but Adam will push him to be smart and get out in front of this right now.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will make some sneaky moves as this hot plot gets even hotter, so stay tuned!
