The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, August 31 Recap – Jack Hires Adam, Billy Rages – Chelsea Cries All Alone

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 31, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will hire Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) rages. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will also cry all alone in her hotel suite, so let’s talk about what’s ahead on Y&R.

At Society, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will talk to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) issues.

Although Abby will see the value in family, she’ll admit Chance sees it as a conflict of interest.

Abby will worry about what’ll happen if Chance reopens the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) case, so Nick will decide to talk to him – though he’ll promise not to pressure Chance and won’t want this to interfere in his sister’s marriage.

On the GCAC rooftop, Chance will find Chelsea looking distressed. Chelsea will admit to having a moment, but she’ll act like she can get past it.

After talk turns to therapy, Chance will go over what he’s learned – including the fact that things don’t always work out how you think they should.

Chance will discuss how it’s not a good idea to waste time and energy getting upset, but he’ll know that’s easier said than done.

Chelsea and Chance will relate over finding joy in the small moments with their sons.

After Chelsea suggests the next round of drinks is on her, Chance will have to step away for a mysterious meeting.

Chelsea will quiz Chance afterward to find out if that was an informant, so he’ll admit he’s closing Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) last case.

Chance’s tribute will move Chelsea to tears before they both acknowledge that they miss Rey.

Later, Chelsea will return to her hotel suite, sit on the bed and cry alone.

As for Chance, he’ll track Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) down at Crimson Lights and let her know he wrapped up all Rey’s cases.

Sharon will point out that Rey was so happy to be working with a man as honorable as Chance, so that’ll leave him looking a bit guilty.

At Jabot, Adam will show up to accept Jack’s offer if it stills stands.

Jack will quickly welcome Adam aboard as his co-CEO, but Adam will worry about the Abbott family’s reaction.

After Jack assures Adam that he’s handled it, Billy will arrive and get updates on Jack’s latest decision.

It’ll leave Billy livid and hopeful that Jack can still back out, but it’ll be official as far as Jack is concerned.

While Jack is taking a call, Billy will warn Adam that he’ll be watching his every move.

This is Billy’s family company and his father’s legacy, so he’ll want to keep a close eye on Adam since he destroys everything he touches.

Adam will act like if Jabot can survive Billy, it can survive just about anything. Once Jack returns, he’ll decide to take Adam out for a celebratory drink.

Back at Society, Adam and Jack will spread the Jabot co-CEO news to Nick and Abby.

That’ll leave Adam’s siblings skeptical about his sudden decision and motives, but Jack will think Newman Media’s loss is his gain.

Next, Nick will meet up with Chance and reveal that Adam has apparently had a change of heart.

Chance will seem suspicious, but Nick will explain the Jabot co-CEO situation and point out that Jack has always been a positive influence on Adam.

Nick will also mention Abby’s concerns and how Chance really needs to talk to his wife.

Soon after, Chance will apologize to Abby for earlier and vow not to lose sight of their family again, so Abby will accept his apology and seal it with a kiss.

At Jabot again, Jack will assume Adam’s contract should be waiting for them by now.

Since Jack won’t be able to find it in his office, he’ll head down to legal for answers. That’ll give Adam a chance to sit in the big chair and embrace the new kingdom.

At the Abbott house, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will joke around with Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) in bed before opening up about his last relationship, which was toxic and lacked communication.

Allie will admit she hasn’t been in a lot of relationships and the ones she has been in were awkward.

However, Noah will decide they should focus on the future instead of the past and will pull Allie into a kiss.

Once they’re dressed and downstairs, Allie and Noah will run into Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

Allie will be embarrassed since Traci will know what they were just doing, but Traci will mention her novels and how it takes a lot more to make her blush!

In a moment alone, Allie will worry since she’s so happy with Noah.

It’ll leave Allie thinking maybe it’s too good to be true and that she should proceed with more caution.

Traci will argue that the infatuation phase is the best part and won’t want Allie to talk herself out of this bliss – especially since she’s had such a hard year.

When Noah meets up with Nick and Sharon later, they’ll notice his good mood.

Noah will smile and suggest maybe it has something to do with the fact that he’s falling in love.
