The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, January 19 Recap – Chelsea's Relocation Demand - Chance & Devon’s Secret Meeting

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 19, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will have an extreme demand for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) while Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) have a secret meeting behind Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) back.

First on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Devon will flash back to holding Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) just after his birth.

Devon will also recall Chance freaking out over not being able to calm Dominic down and the conversation where Chance opened up at Society.

Devon will wish Neil Winters (Kristoff St.John) was there to talk to about all this. He’ll gaze at Neil’s framed photo and insist he’s just trying to do right by Dominic.

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby will feel like it’s disgusting how far Devon has taken this. She’ll be willing to let things get ugly if they must.

Abby will insist they have to fight for their son, so she’ll need to know Chance is with her on this.

Chance will hug Abby in reassurance, but he’ll text Devon while Abby’s out getting some air. Chance will hope Devon’s willing to talk – just the two of them.

At Crimson Lights, Adam will appear as Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) are grabbing coffee for their momentous first day at Chancellor Industries.

After Adam offers to buy Lily and Billy their drinks, Billy will want to make sure any lingering animosity will be reserved solely for him – not Lily.

Adam will assure Billy of that, so Billy will head out with Lily.

Afterward, Sharon will have a sweet chat with Adam on the patio. She’ll think it’s obvious how much Adam loves his son – and Sharon will be glad Adam’s built trust with his father, too.

Sharon will hope Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) can hang onto that.

Sharon will also want Adam to drop this Billy feud for good and will suggest Adam’s more like Billy than he’d like to admit.

Next, Sharon will turn her attention to a frazzled Abby.

Sharon will offer up some food and a sympathetic ear, but Abby will jump all over her for acting like Chance is still struggling. Abby won’t know why everyone keeps acting like Chance is going to fall apart.

Sharon will do her best to get Abby to open up about her feelings, but Abby won’t need a therapist. Even so, Sharon will suggest that Abby and Chance have a large support system to lean on.

Sharon will think they should open up their world as well as Dominic’s, but Abby will argue that they have to be enough as Dom’s parents.

Sharon will still feel like Abby and Chance can reach out to all the people who love Dominic.

Sharon will contend that it’ll help everyone, so Abby will thank Sharon as she cuts the conversation short and hustles out.

Next, Billy will welcome Lily to her new office, which will be the same as the one before.

Billy will mention that thanks to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), Lily now has the entire building instead of just this floor.

Lily will notice a gift on her desk for both of them – some flowers and a bottle of scotch for Billy.

Lily will read the card from a supportive Jill and show gratitude for Billy’s support as well.

Devon will stop by briefly to congratulate Lily with a gift, so she’ll pry the latest custody drama details out of him.

Soon after, Devon will see Chance’s text and head back to his penthouse for a discussion.

When Chance shows up at Devon’s door, he’ll want Devon to answer something honestly.

If Chance didn’t make it back or if he was in a better headspace, would Devon still be making all these legal demands?

Devon will want to stick to reality, but Chance will think they need to talk through this. He’ll want to know how they can handle this without it turning into a war.

Devon will assure Chance that’s what he wants, too. He’ll respect Chance for his service, but he’ll ask if Chance can honestly say he’s ready to give Dominic everything he needs without being affected by trauma.

Before Chance can answer, Abby will arrive and fume over this meeting happening behind her back.

Nevertheless, Chance will argue that he just wanted to talk to Devon “father to father.”

Chance will also answer Devon’s question, so he’ll confirm he’s not sure he can give Dominic all the love and attention he needs right now.

After Lily’s remote meeting serves as her official CEO launch, she’ll be on cloud nine with Billy.

Lily will kiss Billy passionately to show him just how great she’s feeling.

At Society, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will get the feeling that maybe Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) wants Ask MD Now to fold under new ownership.

Nate will get that Elena’s got a lot on her plate, but Elena will love all her work and will remain committed to it. She’ll also vow to make sure Nate doesn’t feel neglected.

Chelsea will also find Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at Society, where she’ll recap how blunt and cold Adam was about their lack of a future.

Chelsea will mention that Adam said they can’t even work together professionally if she can’t let go.

After Chelsea says Adam made it very clear that their bond is broken for good, Chloe will try to get her to see this as a good thing.

Chloe will think they should focus on making the fashion platform something that can survive as its own entity – just in case Adam screws it up.

Once Chloe makes a speech about this being a new beginning, she’ll assure Chelsea that they control their own destiny.

Chelsea will head over to Adam’s office, where she’ll acknowledge that he was being cruel to be kind.

Chelsea won’t be interested in humiliating herself any further, but she’ll want to know Adam’s not having any doubts about her running the fashion platform with Chloe.

After Adam offers reassurance, Chelsea will feel like she needs total freedom and no drama to achieve her best work.

Under the circumstances, Chelsea will think it’s best if she’s not running into Adam every five minutes.

Chelsea will want to relocate Newman Fashion to a new workspace, but Adam will think moving out of the building seems extreme.

Adam will think they can handle this like adults, but Chelsea will think that’s what she’s doing.

“This is adult me telling adult you what I need to keep working at Newman Media,” Chelsea will insist.

Chelsea will think it’s a reasonable request that Adam can easily manage, so she’ll stand her ground and leave.

While Chelsea pauses to sigh outside the door, Adam will look rather pensive as he sits back at his desk.
