The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, May 4 Recap – Jack Rejects Ashland’s Request – Adam’s Dream Job Slips Away

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 4, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will reject Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) request while Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) dream job slips away.

At Newman Media, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will arrive as Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) are discussing Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) return from the dead.

After Sally finds out they’re talking about Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) mom, she’ll be intrigued over some of Diane’s romantic history.

Talk will turn to Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) insistence that she’d rather resign than have Adam as her co-CEO.

Victor will think Adam has to prove his loyalty and win Victoria over, so Sally will give Adam a pep talk and send him off to make it happen.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle will remain uncertain of what the future holds with Diane.

Kyle will tell Jack that he wants to visit Diane again with more questions, but it’ll really boil down to one: How can Kyle know that Diane has really changed?

Diane will welcome Kyle in for a visit and try to answer that on Tuesday’s Y&R episode.

Diane will talk about finding a psychologist who called her out on her “crap” and helped her overcome her narcissistic attitude.

Kyle will wonder what Diane intends to do if he turns her down, so she’ll vow to head back to Los Angeles and leave him alone.

That said, Diane would love the opportunity for forgiveness and a place in Kyle’s life.

Kyle will admit he never stopped loving and missing his mother, but he’ll struggle over whether the version he knew of Diane ever really existed.

Diane will assure Kyle that her love for him was never an act. She’ll be overcome with emotion as Kyle decides he’s willing to leave the door open enough for Diane to prove herself.

Kyle will ask Diane not to go back to LA, so she’ll gasp in relief. Diane will then reach out to touch Kyle before deciding against it, but she’ll remain grateful.

At The Grand Phoenix, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will wonder what Ashland is still doing in town and will warn him to stay away from Victoria.

Ashland will think it’s clear that Billy is still in love with Victoria and will suggest it’s surprising that someone as smart as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) hasn’t figured it out – unless she already has and resents it.

Billy will insist his relationship is just fine, but he’ll want Ashland to know he’s playing with fire.

After Billy warns that Ashland is at the top of Victor’s hit list, he’ll add that it’s not a fun place to be.

Later, Billy will sit down with his podcast equipment and rant about his run-in with a mogul that’ll remain nameless.

Billy will fume over someone having everything and still plotting to get more through manipulation.

As for Ashland, he’ll summon Jack to Society and come clean about the cancer scam.

Ashland will insist that his love for Victoria became real and wasn’t part of the hoax, but that won’t impress furious Jack.

After Ashland admits he’s concerned about how Kyle and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will react when they hear the news, Jack will reply that he “damn well should be!”

Ashland will insist he’d do anything to keep Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) in his life. He’ll hope Jack’s willing to advocate for him with Kyle, but Jack will ask why he’d do that.

Jack will be fed up with all the sick and twisted reasoning he’s been hearing lately.

Jack will refuse to help Ashland and will advise against going to Kyle directly since now isn’t a good time to ask for forgiveness.

Once Jack returns home, he’ll reconvene with Kyle and seek updates on his latest meeting with Diane.

Although Kyle will be conflicted, he’ll admit he told Diane that he’d give her a chance to prove herself.

In Victoria’s office, she’ll rant to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about Adam being the threat now, not Ashland. She’ll feel like Victor is never going to see Adam the way she does.

However, Victoria will eventually realize she should just hire someone that Victor would have to concede is a far better choice – and she’ll insist she’s looking at her.

Nikki will be taken aback and express concern about becoming a pawn in Victoria’s game.

Victoria will counter that she’s not trying to hide her agenda here. She’ll acknowledge that this is an attempt to block Adam, but she’ll also assure Nikki that it’s a sincere offer.

Victoria will talk about how Nikki is the most qualified for the job and will try to sell her mom on how much fun it’d be working together at the top.

Victoria will argue that Victor will kick himself for not thinking of it himself.

Victoria won’t care about Adam’s hurt feelings, especially since their partnership would never work long-term if she caved.

Victoria will think trying to work with Adam would be a disaster for the family and their business.

Once Nikki joins Victor at Crimson Lights, she’ll confess she accepted the co-CEO position that Victoria offered.

Victor will admit it makes him very happy to see his beautiful wife running the company and will take Nikki’s hands in support.

When Adam stops by Victoria to make a pitch for becoming a team, she’ll reveal that she’s already hired another partner she can trust.

Adam will be stunned when Victoria explains that Nikki is her new co-CEO.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam’s fury will explode in a big way thanks to Victoria’s sneaky move!
