The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Week of December 12 Recap Review – Summer’s Fierce Side Returns – Phyllis Deserves Downfall

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap review for the week of December 12-16 reveals that Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) showed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that she meant business. Phyllis has gone too far this time, so there had to be real consequences.

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) certainly has a problematic history, but Phyllis is just as bad or worse!

Although Phyllis acts like she’s never done anything as terrible as Diane, we’d have to disagree with her on that.

Regardless, Phyllis could’ve just stayed away from Diane and tried to avoid conflict like she was told to.

There was no need to make such a mess involving a convicted felon since Jeremy is obviously bad news.

Instead, Phyllis played with fire by summoning Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) to town and made matters worse according to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) by meeting with him to confess.

Phyllis finally admitted she only had speculation when it came to Diane turning Jeremy over to the authorities.

After Phyllis apologized and urged Jeremy to go back to California, Jeremy showed no signs of listening to her.

Phyllis got an earful from Jack, who said she’d be fired it was up to him. However, Jack left the decision in Summer and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) hands in the end.

Summer mentioned talking this over with Kyle, but it’s nice that Y&R let her do the actual firing.

Viewers saw Summer’s fierce side back in action, which was a wonderful jolt for the character.

Allison Lanier is now getting a chance to shine as she plays Summer’s anger and all these messy family situations.

Summer officially fired Phyllis as the head of Marchetti Home – and we can’t blame her at all since Phyllis deserved it!

Of course, consequences never last long on Y&R, so it looks like Phyllis will accept a new job with Daniel Romalotti Jr’s (Michael Graziadei) gaming platform soon.

Phyllis will inevitably land on her feet, but this brief comeuppance has still been fun to watch.

As for Summer, Kyle and Jack, they worked hard to keep the truth about Diane’s cabin location under wraps. Jeremy has a dangerous streak and could cause serious issues, so he’ll remain a major threat as long as he’s hanging around.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jeremy’s complex motives will lead to more drama, so stay tuned to see if he’ll make some updates to his plan! CDL
