The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of January 31-February 4 tease that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) secret will start to unravel while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) seals his own fate. Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will also tackle another challenge, so let’s talk about what viewers can look forward to.
For starters, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will back Adam into a corner.
Adam will face a difficult ultimatum, so he’ll have to make a choice that affects his future in a big way.
It sounds like Adam will either have to be a team player for Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) or find himself out of a job.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will feel rather cornered as well thanks to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who’ll strike another blow.
Adam told Sally several secrets in strict confidence, so Chelsea may somehow pry the truth out of her and use the betrayal against her rival.
Whatever the case, another round of clashing is coming up between Sally and Chelsea, so we’ll see if Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) gets caught in the drama again.
In the meantime, Ashland’s motives will be questioned – mostly by Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) at first.
There’ll be some new reasons to be concerned, so this will lead to Victor having another strategy session with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc).
Victor will relay some startling suspicions, which will probably involve Ashland’s medical condition.
It looks like Victor will have his doubts when it comes to Ashland’s miraculous recovery. Victor may not believe Ashland was ever all that sick in the first place!
Michael will end up tracking Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) down and grilling him, which could be tricky due to doctor-patient confidentiality.
Nevertheless, Michael may manage to gather some useful information that backs up the idea of Ashland lying about his lung cancer.
As for Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman), she’ll battle some worries when it comes to Michael’s new job.
Lauren may fear it’s going to take up too much of Michael’s time and drag him into Newman chaos that they don’t need in their lives.
Over with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), she’ll confide in Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and perhaps get some good advice when it comes to the Marchetti offer in Milan.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will also have another chat with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and confirm he’s still on the right path.
Billy will hope he can put Traci’s mind at ease and fully move past any lingering tension over his old Adam vendetta.
Other Y&R spoilers say Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will have some positive guidance for Abby, who’ll do her best to find common ground with Devon.
There may be a little more friction over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) as Abby, Devon and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) adjust to their new normal, but they’ll all try to get on the same page.
Next, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will celebrate their engagement through the album listening party Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) suggested.
That could bring problems if Noah causes a scene – maybe even an alcohol-fueled one.
Regardless, Mariah may realize Noah is still pining for Tessa and wind up arguing with her brother as a result. Will family issues put a damper on the celebration?
