The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Will Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) land in Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) bed and blow up Lauren Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) marriage with a one-night stand?
So far, Michael has had the most positive reaction to seeing Diane again.
Although Michael wasn’t exactly jumping for joy, he admitted it was pretty good to see Diane and was glad she wasn’t dead.
Diane was a bit suspicious considering all the backlash she’d been getting, but she decided to take the win.
That led to Diane and Michael looking quite friendly when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) spied them having drinks.
Since Phyllis seemed concerned, maybe Y&R fans should be concerned, too.
After all, conflict has been bubbling up in Michael and Lauren’s marriage since he refused to walk away from the danger at Newman Enterprises.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is on the verge of putting Michael in yet another risky situation, so Lauren may lash out all over again.
Michael could easily drown his sorrows over his marriage friction and make some poor choices.
The same goes for Diane if she ends up in bed with Michael and proves she hasn’t changed all that much.
This would actually be a good writing strategy because it’d allow Diane to make a mistake and be interesting without directly affecting Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) or his family.
Diane can’t do anything detrimental to the people who matter most to Kyle, but we also don’t want boring Diane who’s a perfect angel.
A one-night stand for Diane and Michael might be the ideal solution since it’d be an epic blunder, but it wouldn’t be unforgivable in Kyle’s eyes.
That said, it would stir up a ton of issues since Lauren would be furious and devastated.
Phyllis would also be outraged along with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Kyle would be deeply disappointed in Diane as well, so it’d cause a setback that she’d have to overcome.
As for Michael, he’d launch a massive marriage crisis and would have to fight for his future with Lauren.
The show could get some terrific drama out of Michael cheating on Lauren with Diane, even if it’s just a drunken mistake they both regret the morning after.
Whatever the case, it may be significant that Michael is being nicer to Diane than anyone else in town.
Add that to the clashing Michael’s doing with Lauren and it could lead to bigger problems!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane won’t be able to stay on a saintly road forever, so stay tuned to see how she’ll screw up.
