In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, Bobby and his team ended up going to the beach. A family went to the beach to enjoy the sunshine. The kids thought to prank their dad by burying him in sand while he was sleeping and unfortunately a dry storm was moving through the area.

There was lightning that was coming from the storm. The lightning hit the sand. It turned it into instant glass and one shard manage to puncture their dad’s neck. The kids couldn’t get their dad out of the sand by themselves. They had to call 911. And it was Bobby and his team that took the call.

The 118 were quick on the scene. They broke away the glass and they dug that poor man out of the sand. They got him in a stable condition, but he was going to need some serious help and so they transferred him to the hospital for further care.

The firefighters pulled off another daring rescue. This one was one to remember. The fact that it had a happy ending was something they all wishes for and Chimney for one was in a great mood. Chimney was usually the guy that always see the positive. Only he had every reason to dread what came next.

Chimney was having his in-laws over for dinner. His girlfriend was worried about what they would say once they saw the new house. Maddie thought they were going to complain. She thought they would hate all the renovations and it was Chimney who chose to see the best in Maddie’s family.

He said Buck would be there. He also reminded Maddie that there were no more deep family secrets that everyone was hiding and at least they didn’t have to worry about that. They just had to make it through dinner.

Phillip and Margaret later came to the house. They didn’t complain about a single thing nor did they even mention that they gave the couple the down payment for the house. They were on their best behavior. There no backhanded compliments from them. Buck was also keeping his cool.

His therapy has been helping him to navigate his emotions in a healthy manor and everything was great until the uninvited guests arrived. Chimney’s father decided to visit him out of the blue. The same father that hadn’t cared if he had a place to live was now wanting a relationship.

This was the same man that pretty much ghosted Chimney after his mother got sick. He also quickly remarried and had another son to replace Chimney with. It was truly a miracle in itself that Chimney was able to develop a great relationship with his half-brother.

He could have gotten jealous or wanted nothing to do with his father’s new family and he chose to instead to be a great guy. He reached out to Albert. He developed a relationship with Albert. They were now really close and then Albert brought their father to dinner.

Albert knew Chimney wouldn’t like that. Which was why he didn’t shoot a text about their dad coming to the States. Albert went to South Korea on a short visit. He met up with his parents. He told them that Chimney was doing great with his family and his dad seemed curious about his granddaughter.

He wanted to meet Jee-Yun. Albert figured it was better to ask for forgiveness than permission and so he brought his parents to Chimney’s house. Chimney thankfully cooked enough food for everyone. There was also room at the table for everyone.

It was just Chimney who was upset. He didn’t let on that he was upset because he hadn’t wanted to get angry in front of his in-laws and so he waited until the dinner was over to complain about it to his friends at the 118. He was prepared to cut his dad out of his life, but his friends reminded him that his dad was now a grandfather.

Jee-Yun changed things. She might want a grandfather that can teach her Korean or who would spoil her crazy. Sure, she had Maddie’s parents only they didn’t live in California either and so extra visits from grandparents wouldn’t hurt.

Chimney was still thinking it over when they later responded to a car accident. This rideshare was getting a woman to the hospital because she was in labor when lightning struck their car. It forced the car to deploy air bags and it caused the car to crash. The baby got ejected during the crash.

He wasn’t breathing. His umbilical cord got cut when they got the mom out of the car. Bobby clamped the cord when he got the baby out of the car. He also had to work on this little baby for a bit before finally the baby started to cry. And luckily the 118 saved mother, son, and driver.

Only it wasn’t all good. Bobby was still looking into his sponsor’s death. He suspected that a local rehab center was responsible for Wendell’s death and so he asked Athena and May for help in investigating it. May pretended to be a drug addict. She visited the center to ask questions.

She learned while she was there that the this center was actually giving the patients drugs in the hopes of giving them a safe space to do so. Several people have already died thanks to their brand of care. May just needed firm evidence to bring the whole place down.

As she was investigating people close to the center, Chimney’s family had a near miss. There was an argument that happened after Buck told his parents he was helping a friend start a family. Chimney’s dad and stepmom were also there. They disagreed with Buck’s decision.

Buck’s parents were a little more openminded and the both sides got into a fight when the electricity went out thanks to lightning. Jee-Yun woke up. She was the great peacemaker and she brought down everyone’s temper. Soon everyone apologized for the things they said. And they all got to enjoy their time with little Jee-Yun.

Buck had mentioned later on that it felt like they were finally a real family. He was so happy about where his life was that he went to work and he couldn’t wait to go help people. Buck climbed a ladder to go rescue a family from a burning building when that stupid lightning came back. The lightning hit the ladder. It knocked Buck off. He was mercifully wearing a harness and so he didn’t die from the fall. He did however lost his pulse. And he needed to be rushed to the hospital.

THE END!
