90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Nicole struggles to adapt

ET has released a teaser clip for Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way that reveals Nicole struggling to adapt to life in Egypt.

Recently, it was reported that she almost didn’t return to Egypt to be with Mahmoud. Now that she has, the strict Muslim culture is having a bad effect on the American native.

The first time Nicole moved to Egypt she left after having trouble adapting to the Muslim culture.

Now that she has moved there for the second time, she is again feeling resistant to the strict rules for women, especially related to clothing.

However, now she is reluctant to accept not having friends outside the family.

No need to make friends in Egypt

In the latest trailer, Nicole speaks with her sister-in-law, Fatima, who had moved from China to be with Mahmoud’s brother.

Meanwhile, she asks Fatima for tips on how she learned to adjust to the culture.

Fatima explains to Nicole that she needs to learn Arabic faster to be able to adjust to living in Egypt. However, Fatima also acknowledged that she hasn’t made any friends outside of the family.

Meanwhile, Nicole explains that in the US, it is common to go out and meet people, who become friends.

Fatima is quick to reply, saying “Egypt, women no go out too much. You just know family.”

Meanwhile, Fatima’s brother chips in, saying, “But big family, no need go outside friends.”

To this, Nicole explains that she has a lot of friends in the US, to which Mahmoud laughs uncomfortably.

In a confessional, Nicole tells the cameras, “I personally would like to make friends here,” adding, “It’s really important to me.”

Meanwhile, she added that she is worried as it is clear to her that all her previous problems in Egypt, including clothing, and the chaos of living with Mahmoud’s family, haven’t gone away. She added, “They’re waiting for me in Egypt. I’m here and so are they.”

The 90 Day Fiancé star added:

“I don’t think I can feel at home here without immediately trying to address some of our issues because if we just continue to pretend that we’re just happy, sitting there with the family drinking tea, nothing ever changes.”
