Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, June 9, reveals that Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson) found Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) in his robe and pushed to him to get ready for his lunch interview with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), but Dimitri said he wasn’t going.
However, Megan reminded Dimitri that he needed to marry before his 40th birthday so they could lock in his Von Leuschner inheritance.
Since Dimitri had found the codicil in Megan’s room, he pointed out that she left out a couple crucial details.
Dimitri would have to stay married for a year – and if it was found that his marriage wasn’t sincere, he wouldn’t get to keep a penny.
Although Dimitri wasn’t looking forward to pretending to be besotted with Gwen, Megan argued that all he had to do was turn on the charm.
Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) overheard part of the conversation on Friday’s Days episode, so she quizzed Megan about her plans for the Von Leuschner fortune while Dimitri was getting ready upstairs.
Megan kept things vague, but she ultimately mentioned needing a commander for her army and hinted about the one who just arrived in Salem.
At the pub on Friday’s Days episode, Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) approached Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), so Roman said he was indebted to Harris for saving Kate and shook his hand.
After Roman left to help Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) with the search for Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Kate offered Harris a job since he needed a way to make money.
Kate suggested Harris could get rid of Megan for her, so Harris asked if she meant convincing her to leave town or taking it a step further.
Once Kate confirmed she wanted Harris to kill Megan, he insisted he could never be a hitman. Although Harris had killed before, it was under mind control or in combat situations.
Kate pushed Harris to at least think it over since Megan was a dangerous threat to everyone. Based on some upcoming Days spoilers, there may be room for an abduction compromise.
Back at the DiMera mansion, Dimitri appeared wearing a suit for his lunch with Gwen and suggested he could just tell her the truth about why he wanted to marry. Megan nixed that idea since the codicil stated that the marriage had to be sincere.
In their hotel suite, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) told Gwen that he went to see his mother at Statesville and listened to her rant about what an unlovable loser he was.
Gwen gave Leo a pep talk, so he eventually decided she was right and that they just needed a couple handsome strangers to sweep them off their feet.
Leo also told Gwen that if they didn’t find love, they could just marry each other.
Gwen joked about the expensive ring she wanted, but Leo said he was serious and acted like they could get all kinds of fancy gifts from the wedding registry.
As Gwen went in the bathroom to finish getting ready for her lunch interview with Dimitri, Leo urged her not to mention his name.
Since Leo got on Dimitri’s bad side with the whole Alamainian peacock debacle, he admitted that Dimitri had threatened to kill him.
When Leo heard a knock at the door, he answered it thinking it might be room service. Leo came face to face with Dimitri, who recognized him and fumed.
At Nurse Whitley King’s (Kim Coles) apartment, Abe struggled to get up from his chair as Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) announced himself in the hallway.
Rafe kept banging on the door and revealed that he was with the police, so Abe flashed back to Whitley warning him about his attacker impersonating a cop.
Since Whitley told Abe not to open up to anyone – especially the police – Abe obeyed her orders.
Although Abe thought Rafe’s voice sounded familiar, he assumed Rafe was the guy who attacked him and hoped he’d stay gone.
Rafe eventually met up with Whitley at the hospital in Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) room, where Paulina thanked her for caring for Abe when he was there.
After Rafe mentioned that Whitley may have been the last person to see Abe before his disappearance, he asked if she’d seen anyone suspicious.
Whitley denied it and claimed she simply found Abe confused when he woke up, so she left to notify his doctor about the updates to his status.
Once Whitley said she was sorry that she couldn’t be of more help, she assured Paulina that Abe was in her prayers.
Back with Abe, he watched Body and Soul, which was the soap opera that Whitley had made all those tapes of.
On the fake soap, Charlemagne (Deidre Hall) and Kassandra (Mary Beth Evans) had a massive fight about who deserved to be Woman of the Year before they clashed over who Rhett really loved.
There was talk about Rhett having amnesia and only loving one of them because of it, so Abe seemed intrigued by that concept.
Suddenly, there was a news report from 2008 involving Abe’s mayoral speech, so Abe watched the old footage of himself in shock.
“That’s me! I’m the mayor!” Abe declared on Friday’s DOOL episode.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Abe will uncover more puzzle pieces relating to his past soon, so stay tuned to DOOL.
