Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, October 13, reveals that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) came face to face with Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) in the town square and had to sit down. Sarah looked like she’d seen a ghost as she struggled to process the fact that Susan was alive.
Susan explained that she’d returned with help from the good Lord and a few caring individuals.
EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) popped up and pointed out that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was still to blame for Susan’s kidnapping.
However, Sarah definitely seemed affected by the news that Xander wasn’t to blame for Susan’s demise like she thought.
Once a bewildered Sarah headed home, Susan once again warned EJ not to go after Xander or Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Susan didn’t want EJ fixating on her ordeal anymore, but he still wanted to know who delivered her to Edmund Crumb (Adam Caine).
Meanwhile, a man who appeared to be an inmate read how Ava came to Susan’s rescue, so DOOL set up Clyde Weston’s (James Read) imminent return.
Next on Friday’s Days episode, Xander showed up at Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) apartment.
Eric demanded to know what Xander was doing there and was in disbelief when he said Sloan was his lawyer.
Sloan confirmed that was true and acknowledged that she should’ve told Eric sooner. Eric wasn’t happy about Sloan’s updates, but he gave her a quick kiss before taking off.
Once Sloan was alone with Xander, she warned that he’d be facing an uphill battle when it came to scoring full custody.
However, Xander thought Susan’s survival would help along with Sarah’s history of keeping fathers from their children.
The conversation led to Sloan’s discovery that Sarah previously kept Eric’s baby from him.
Xander acted like anyone who’d do such a thing was a monster, so Sloan looked guilty over her paternity tampering secret.
At Tripp Johnson’s (Lucas Adams) place, he overheard Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) on a phone call with Harris Michaels (Steve Burton).
Ava called Harris her hero before disconnecting and giving Tripp her full attention.
Tripp opened up about being in love with Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) and fished to find out how Ava really felt about Harris, but she claimed they were just friends.
At the pub, Harris introduced himself to Eric and passed along some pictures that he’d left in the room Harris just rented. That led to Eric and Harris getting to know each other a bit.
Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) also crossed paths with Harris and pushed him to apply for a job at the police station since they could use someone competent like him.
When Harris arrived at Tripp’s door later, Tripp hinted about how Ava had been through a lot and warned that she didn’t need any more baggage.
Ava pushed Tripp to leave for work and apologized to Harris, who understood that Tripp was just a protective son.
As Harris and Ava continued to bond on Friday’s Days episode, they wound up holding hands and sharing a kiss.
Once Eric returned home to Sloan, he was sorry for his reaction to Xander and knew he had to respect her judgment about taking cases.
Sloan mentioned learning that Sarah kept a child from Eric, so he talked about how it was hard to get past the pain that Sarah had caused him and so many others.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Rex ripped into Kate for convincing Sarah to set him free and offered updates on Sarah’s divorce decision.
Kate thought that was great news, but Rex wasn’t pleased over her meddling.
When Sarah came home, she filled Rex in on Susan’s survival and how it might affect the custody case, but she stood by her divorce choice.
Rex decided to head back to Chicago, so he hugged Sarah goodbye and went to bid farewell to Victoria Horton in the other room.
Xander barged in and demanded to see his daughter, but Sarah thought he should have the decency to let Rex say goodbye.
After Sarah mentioned the divorce and Rex’s departure for Chicago, Xander was surprised.
Sarah also brought up the fact that Susan was alive and softened toward Xander a bit, so they shared an awkward moment like they were fighting their feelings.
Finally, Rex found Kate and filled her in on his decision to return to Chicago while Susan told EJ that she was headed home to Memphis.
