Days of Our Lives Recap: Thursday, August 10 – Kidnapping Plot, Trashed Boss and Broken Gentlemen’s Agreement

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 10, reveals that Belle Brady (Martha Madison) was surprised to learn Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) was now the police commissioner, so he explained how he got the position and that he was off the force if he didn’t accept the job.

Shawn worried that maybe Belle thought he should’ve walked away from the opportunity, so she admitted she had concerns since he was still dealing with so much. That said, Belle had faith in Shawn and did her best to show support anyway.

At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Jada pushed Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to vent over how unfair it was that Shawn got his old job.

However, it ended up being Jada who really needed to vent since this wasn’t the first time she’d been passed over for a promotion as a qualified woman of color.

Right as Jada grumbled over her boss being a drunk who put his own father in a coma, Shawn appeared with Belle and overheard her comment.

Jada apologized profusely and insisted she was just venting, but Shawn understood her frustration and let Rafe know he was sorry about how everything went down. Rafe just wanted Shawn to focus on doing a good job as the new police commissioner.

Outside Stephanie Johnson’s (Abigail Klein) apartment, she was taken aback when Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) blew her off and refused to really have a conversation in the hallway.

Stephanie found Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) with Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) and Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) as they prepared to head over to the DiMera mansion, where the kids were having a sleepover with Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater).

After Stephanie mentioned Alex blowing her off, Chad acted surprised over the news and played dumb about Alex’s reason for seeming distant.

Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Stephanie got a text about an opportunity to pitch a marketing plan for a new business venture and took off.

At Small Bar, Yuri Kasnov (Josh Flagg) met with Alex and hinted about hiring the best in the biz to work on marketing and PR following their deal.

Once Stephanie appeared, Alex kept trying to act like they couldn’t work together this time. Stephanie didn’t buy Alex’s excuses and finally got him to admit Chad warned him to back off or else, so she left in a huff.

Yuri confessed he didn’t really care about this love triangle, but he congratulated Alex on now having a better chance of winning Stephanie back.

At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, Kristen hugged Charlotte and Thomas once Chad brought them over.

While Kristen was showing the kids Rachel’s remodeled room, Chad thanked EJ for the good advice to confront Alex and put him in his place.

Kristen overheard and felt that Chad was dumb for listening to EJ’s guidance on this. Chad argued that he had a gentlemen’s agreement with Alex, so he didn’t think Alex would say anything to Stephanie.

Kristen insisted that of course Alex would blab and felt that Chad had just made things worse. Chad eventually realized Kristen was right and decided to try to fix this before his life blew up.

Back at home on Thursday’s DOOL show, Chad found Stephanie pouring some Champagne. Stephanie asked if Chad wanted a glass, but he just wanted to talk.

Once Stephanie threw a glass of Champagne in Chad’s face, she warned him to “sit the hell down” and insisted she was going first.

In Rachel’s room at the townhouse, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) confronted Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) since he had spyware on the Wi-Fi.

Due to John’s connections at Black Patch, he had extra precautions and got an alert for any suspicious activity.

It turns out Brady bought a car in Texas so that it’d have an out-of-state registry.

Brady then had that car delivered to a garage on the outskirts of town, so it wasn’t hard for John to figure out Brady planned to kidnap Rachel and go on the run.

Brady finally admitted he didn’t have a choice, but John warned that was no life for a little girl and felt that Rachel would hate her dad for this one day.

John also knew that only Brady could talk himself out of this, so he pushed Brady to see that he could fight until the judge’s decision was overturned.

If Brady took Rachel and ran now, it was all over since Kristen would win for good.

At the DiMera mansion again, Kristen grew concerned over Brady being late. It led to Kristen getting Belle on the phone and ranting about how they needed to contact every police jurisdiction in the state.

Right as Kristen was ready to complain about Brady kidnapping Rachel, he showed up with their daughter. Brady scowled as he watched Rachel run into Kristen’s arms.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Kristen’s full custody will lead to more drama, so stay tuned for updates on the twists and turns ahead.
