Tonight’s episode begins with a man named John and his wife walking down the street, he tells her that it has been a long week. They are talking about her sister that it is a lot to handle, he says if she wants him to go with her he will. All of a sudden, John sees a man walking down the street, pulls out his gun and tells guy hands where he can see them. The guy says he doesn’t know what who he is and what he wants. The woman starts to freak and asks John what is going on, he gets distracted and the other guy pulls a gun, shoots him and runs. Someone nearby calls 911.

Jubal goes to Isobel and asks her if she wants to join a bunch of them for dinner. She says she would but she has court side tickets for the Nicks with a date.

The victim is John Regan, he works for the state department. Tiffany and Stuart ore on the scene, the victim is dead. They talk to his wife, she says she doesn’t know why her husband pulled his gun, he has never done this. She says the suspect was white, she thinks, but it happened so fast, and she can’t be sure what he was wearing. Her husband worked for the state department in security, his last assignment was Croatia, she thinks it might be related. The man who shot him sounded Eastern European.

At the station, Jubal goes over the case. No prints or DNA on the shell casings. They got a video of the perp running away after the shooting, they can’t do a facial recognition.

A supervisor visits the station from the state department, they don’t think the shooting is connected to the work John Regan was doing, and they don’t recognize the shooter. Isobel gets annoyed with the guy who is obviously holding back. He gets up to leave and says same country, different team.

There is new footage of the suspect getting out of cab near the crime scene. The cab robbed him at a motel where he is staying with another guy. The desk clerk says they are staying in room 10, they are a bunch of wackos, they don’t let the maid’s clean the room. And, he doesn’t have a name of the guy because cash is cash, they don’t care. The team head to the room 10, inside he place is empty and it looks like they knew they were coming, the room is empty. They are looking around a all of a sudden when a drawer is opened, a grenade hits the floor and everyone makes a nose dive, it goes off.

The team is ok. Isobel goes back to speak to John’s supervisor and she demands to know what is going on. He tells her his hands are tied.

There was a cross found in the motel room, it is a Croatian testament cross. And, there is more footage, the two mean leaving the motel. The primary suspect has something hanging from his backpack, it is an ID badge from Hudson Genetics. Maggie and Omar head over there, the guy’s name is Luca Cilic and he fired him two days ago because he wanted to access a restricted area of the lab. All of a sudden, an alarm goes off in the building. There has been a robbery, a lock down is issued and evacuation of the building issued. Outside, Maggie wants to know what was stolen, it was a senthetic virus. Video surveillance shows that Jim Levins, a researcher at the lab was the one who stole it. The virus is a super strain of COVID, they were working on a vaccine. It is 1000 times stronger than COVID-19. If it were released into the communtiy million of people would die.

Jubal and Isobel meet again with John’s supervisor off the record. Luca Cilic was in Canada last he heard, in Hawkesbury, he is the one who shot John and is responsible for stealing he virus. Turns out, John was involved in some top secret operations, he was a spy. Cilic is member of a terrorist group in Croatia, looking for independence from the current regime. The Croatian government is an ally.

Maggie and Omar are on the road again, they were able to ping Levins’ phone. Omar sees him, he has the backpack and is going east. Turns out, it was the wrong guy. They continue looking for him and Omar has eyes on him again, this time he puts the backpack in a garbage bin. Omar has Levins, Maggie sees Cilic grab the backpack and run, she goes after him with Tiffany and Stuart behind her. They lose him.

Jubal calls to get choppers in the air, he tells the team to lock the city down, they need to get Levins in to get answers.

Levins is in custody, he says his intentions were noble. Cilic warned him to say nothing, he is not a criminal. Levins says he was forced to do it, steal the virus and the vaccine, by Cilic and if he didn’t do it, he would kill his wife, who he already has, he sent a photo of her with a gun to her head to Levins, he shows them the photo. Levins won’t say anything else, he says that if they apprehend Cilic, his associate will kill his wife.

The team finds the location where Levins’ wife was being held, but the place is empty. Isobel decides to tell Levins that his wife is found, she lies to him, to get more information. Levins says he only stole it because of that photo. Levins doesn’t buy it, he doesn’t believe that they have his wife. He says he needs proof she is alive or he is done talking.

Ian goes through Levins’ wife cell phone and alters some videos, puts them together to make Levins think it is real and his wife is ok. Maggie is not happy they did it, Isobel doesn’t care, she will do whatever she can to stop this. Levins tells Isobel that Cilic asked lots of questions about how the virus had to be stored and how long the vaccine would last, he told him eight hours and Cilic says he only needed seven hours to get it to Croatia. That is all he can offer. Seven hours, Isobel doesn’t think he is going to Croatia, it is not enough time, she thinks he is going to Canada.

Mrs. Levins’ body is found outside a warehouse, she is dead. They have eyes on Cilic from a traffic cam when he left the warehouse with his associate and they are indeed heading to Canada. Cilic makes it to a building, they are surrounded. Cilic won’t give up, he has hostages and threatens to kill all them all if he doesn’t get a jet that is able to travel long distance. Maggie tells him that she wants a peaceful ending, and this virus is dangerous, people will die all over the world, people he loves. Cilic says the virus is like a bomb, she gets him the jet or he will release it hear and now. Jubal and Isobel tells Maggie they have to make entry, they don’t have a choice.

They force entry and kill Cilic, the virus is secured. Isobel goes to speak to Levins and tells him that his wife was killed, she is sorry. She tells him that the moment he gave Cilic the virus, his associate killed her. He realizes that she lied to him, he asks her what kind of person does that, then when she gives her condolences, he tells her to go to hell.

Maggie still doesn’t feel good about what they did, Isobel tells her that it was was her decision, her conscious is clear. Isobel never went to the Knicks game, she went to a bar and drank.
