General Hospital Recap: Friday, October 13 – Dex Recognizes Kidnapper Mason on Security Footage – Cyrus Free to Go

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap Friday, October 13, reveals that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was lifting weights when Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) showed up. Stella eventually answered the door to Selina Wu (Lydia Look), who was there with a gift basket and an even better offer for The Savoy.

Curtis wondered why Selina didn’t just start a new club of her own since it’d be less expensive.

Selina argued that’d be too much work and wanted a club that was already established.

Stella was snippy with Selina and ushered her out once Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) came home with news about her co-chief of staff promotion. Curtis was eager to go out and celebrate with the family.

At Wyndemere, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) spoke to Giles (John Vance) the butler, who hadn’t seen or heard from Ava Jerome (Maura West) recently. However, Giles did find a broken martini glass from the other night.

Since Josslyn confirmed that Ava wasn’t with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Giles suggested that Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) might know something since he seemed close to Ava.

At Pentonville, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) visited Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and noticed that he’d shaved as well as cut his hair.

Cyrus got quizzed about his heart attack, so he mentioned that Laura’s aura pulled him through his ordeal.

The topic of Cyrus’ early release came up, so he asked if Laura was there as his sister or the mayor.

Cyrus asked if Laura would oppose his release now that she was back in town.

Laura made it clear that she didn’t interfere in judicial decisions – nor would she put in a good word for Cyrus.

After Cyrus mentioned that he’d given all his money away, Laura seemed skeptical about his generosity.

Cyrus was miffed since Laura didn’t react that way to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and suggested she was closer to him than her own brother.

After Cyrus admitted to envying Sonny’s life, he hoped to build a bond with Laura if he was released – one even stronger than the one she had with Sonny as a friend.

At GH, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) showed up to see Austin in his office and asked if he’d seen Ava.

Austin said he last saw Ava two or three days ago and made up a story about her maybe taking a trip to New York.

Dex said that could be very helpful and thanked Austin for his time, but then he whacked Austin in the stomach and put him in a chokehold.

Since Ava was the mother of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) daughter, Dex offered a warning.

If Dex found out Austin had something to do with Ava’s disappearance, he said he’d be back and that he wouldn’t be asking questions.

After Josslyn called with news about what she’d found at Wyndemere, Dex rushed right over. In addition to the broken martini glass, Ava left her cell phone – and a grape lollipop was discovered as well.

Giles got the security footage from the property, so Dex and Josslyn saw the video of a man in a hoodie leading Ava to his own boat.

They needed harbor security camera footage next, so Dex said they couldn’t get it without going to the cops.

Josslyn had another idea, which involved bringing Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) in on this.

Spinelli opened the door to Dex and Josslyn soon after, so they gave him updates on everything they’d learned about missing Ava so far.

After Spinelli accessed the harbor security cameras, he was able to see the boat and the man with his hoodie now dropped.

The footage was grainy once it was zoomed in, but Dex still recognized the guy as Austin’s lollipop-loving cousin.

Spinelli also got confirmation that Mason forced Ava into a vehicle that was part of the Pautuck Trucking Company.

Dex told Spinelli that they needed the names of the employees along with their addresses and a list of properties.

It left Dex hopeful that this would help them follow the trail to Ava.

Back in Austin’s office, Mason interrupted his cousin’s conversation with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow). That once again led to TJ seeming like he recognized Mason from somewhere.

Once Mason was alone with Austin, he acted like they shouldn’t care about Ava’s fate.

Austin argued that if anything happened to Ava, Dex would come back for him – and he’d spill his guts so that Mason would be a goner, too.

Dex warned Austin to just do what he was told and took off, but Austin remained pensive.

Back at Pentonville, Cyrus’ early release was officially granted, so he had some dramatic moments where he walked out as a free man and got in a black car.

On the island, Sonny and Nina exchanged heartfelt vows along with rings.

The priest pronounced them husband and wife, so Nina and Sonny kissed as their guests helped them celebrate.

As the reception began, Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) asked if she could call her Mama Nina now, so Nina said she’d love nothing more and hugged her new stepdaughter.

Nina told Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) that it meant so much that she was there – and even Michael softened toward Nina as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Unfortunately, Michael’s mood turned sour when his SEC contact gave him information over the phone.

That contact said Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) acted on behalf of a client, but Michael insisted Martin was the go-between and wanted the actual tip provider.

Michael needed the name of the person who turned in Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), so he clearly got it since he glared at Nina seconds later.

Nina was busy cutting the cake and enjoying her newlywed status, but Michael looked furious as he kept staring at the snitch.

General Hospital spoilers say Michael’s going to make some surprising moves now that he knows the truth, so stick with the ABC soap.
