General Hospital Recap: Monday, May 8 – Victor Exits in Body Bag – Spencer Survives for Passionate Trina Reunion

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, May 8, reveals that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) opened up to Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) about her complicated relationship with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) now that he was missing after the explosion in Greenland.

Josslyn acknowledged that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) saw another side of Spencer and feared her BFF would be crushed if her boyfriend didn’t survive.

In Greenland, Trina held Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) while awaiting news on Spencer, but Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) – who had recovered after receiving the antidote – admitted there was still no sign of him.

Once a WSB agent revealed that a body had been recovered from the wreckage, Trina approached the body bag with Valentin.

After Trina saw that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was inside, she was relieved to know Spencer was still out there somewhere.

Valentin shared a moment alone with Victor’s corpse and talked about how he was glad his father hadn’t raised him.

Now Valentin intended to reclaim the Cassadine name, so he said goodbye to Victor for the last time.

Since there was nothing more they could do there, Valentin and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) tried to convince Trina to get on the plane with them.

Trina refused to leave without Spencer, who finally staggered out from behind some rocks.

Once Trina saw that Spencer was alive and well, she jumped into his arms for a passionate kiss.

Meanwhile, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) met with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to talk about Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and the insider trading drama, but she could only discuss things hypothetically since they were no longer married.

Diane warned that Carly would lose if the case went to trial, so Sonny wanted to find the source of the tip and discredit them.

Sonny also realized the SEC actually wanted to take down Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and could potentially try to strike a deal with Carly.

That left Diane wondering if Carly would really take the deal if that happened.

Regardless, Sonny was determined to protect Carly since she was Donna Corinthos’ (Scarlett Spears) mother and felt Carly would do the same if the situation were reversed.

At GH, Carly spoke to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about Sonny stepping up by sending the SEC on that wild goose chase for Drew.

Dante acknowledged that the SEC likely had a good case since they were moving fast.

When Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) ran into Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) at the hospital, she asked Sam about the wedding and learned it was beautiful until the SEC chaos happened.

Sam pointed out how upset Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was since she had a connection with Carly, so Nina ranted about Carly getting a pass for her DNA deception.

If the truth had come out months ago, Nina felt that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) could’ve been revealed as a potential bone marrow donor sooner.

Nina argued that despite her own mistakes, she was still Willow’s mother.

Sam said sometimes that made it harder and talked about her own resentment of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) when she first found out that was her mom.

Although Sam suggested things could get better in time, Nina worried she didn’t have time when it came to her own relationship with Willow.

Sam wondered if Nina had asked Carly for help, but Nina didn’t think Carly would do anything for her.

Even so, Sam pushed Nina to apologize and try to get Carly’s assistance.

Once Nina crossed paths with Carly later, they locked eyes in an awkward moment.

In Willow’s room, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) pointed out they could get their Paris plans back on track after the transplant.

The conversation eventually shifted to the incriminating footage Michael still had of Sonny, so Willow pushed him to delete it.

Michael objected since Sonny was a guilty criminal, but Willow feared Michael would destroy his family and make his sisters choose sides.

That wasn’t worth the price of justice in Willow’s opinion.

Once Drew and Liesl’s plane landed back in Port Charles, Willow got updates and learned it was time to prep for her transplant.

General Hospital spoilers say Willow’s on the verge of a fresh start, but more family drama’s brewing!
