General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, April 18 – Ethan Escapes After Tracy’s Bid - Sonny Invited to Wedding, Not Nina

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, April 18, reveals that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) had some car trouble when he was trying to drive Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) to dinner. Since roadside assistance couldn’t get there for two hours, Robert decided to try fixing the problem himself.

As Robert worked, Diane opened up about how interesting it was working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but she pointed out she knew where the line was and would never risk her legal career by crossing it.

Roadside assistance sent updates on being another hour away, but Robert thought he’d fixed the issue and had Diane hold something down under the hood while he started the engine.

That led to Diane getting sprayed with motor oil, but Robert gave her a jersey to wear and admitted she looked good in it.

After Robert added that Diane would look good in a paper bag, he pulled her into a passionate kiss.

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) told Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) they should invite Sonny to the wedding for Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and Donna Corinthos’ (Arya & Ayla Dormiani) sake.

Michael realized this was about family unity and setting an example for his little sisters.

That way, Donna and Avery wouldn’t feel like they had to choose between Michael or Sonny in the future.

Michael pointed out that Sonny would want to bring Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), but Willow said Nina had no place at the wedding and vowed to handle her.

In the end, Michael agreed they would invite Sonny to their nuptials, so he gushed with Willow over the fact that they were actually getting married.

At GH, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) found Nina with Sonny and filled them in on Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) getting in touch with ship coordinates.

In a private moment, Valentin got Nina to open up about Willow and how Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) had been opening some doors for her – at least before she was kidnapped.

Nina worried she wouldn’t have much time to build a relationship with Willow, but Valentin tried to stay optimistic.

As Nina thought back on Valentin making her believe Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was her daughter, she acknowledged that that misguided mission came from a place of caring.

Nina thought Valentin had such a capacity to love, so they shared a warm moment as Sonny watched them nearby.

At the civilian complaint review board meeting, the committee revealed that Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) would be reinstated as a PCPD detective.

Chase hugged Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) before Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) appeared to congratulate Chase as well.

When Chase turned back around, he was surprised to see that Brook Lynn left without saying goodbye.

Dante kept the focus on the good news and handed over his partner’s badge later, so Detective Chase proudly put it back on.

Since Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) was taking a special class at the hospital, Brook Lynn arrived to pick him up and ran into Sonny.

Brook Lynn hinted about calling in a favor to help Chase get his badge back, so Sonny supported doing whatever you had to do for the people you love.

Once Brook Lynn mentioned something about Willow and Michael’s wedding tomorrow, she quickly realized Sonny didn’t know about it.

Afterward, Sonny approached Nina to talk and hinted that it was about Willow.

At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) wanted to call 911 or take Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) to the hospital herself.

However, Gregory sat in a chair to recover following his collapse and refused to let the doctors tell him what he already knew.

After Gregory talked about his severe muscle cramps and drank some water, he ultimately admitted he had ALS aka Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Since Gregory’s sons would have to care for him completely once he lost all control of movement, he explained that’s why they should be left in the dark for now.

Gregory just wanted Chase and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) to live normal lives for as long as possible before they took on that burden.

Alexis was so sorry and wished there was something she could do, but Gregory suggested she’d helped just by listening.

Off the coast of Venezuela, the auction for the chance to end Ethan Lovett’s (James Ryan) life brought some hefty bids, including some from a mystery woman at a laptop elsewhere.

Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) eventually offered $10 million for Ethan and won the auction, but she couldn’t provide immediate payment.

That meant the victory went to the second highest bidder instead, which was the mystery woman.

That woman arrived wearing a giant white hat that concealed her identity, but Holly and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) caused a scene that led to the hat falling off. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) was revealed as the mysterious lady underneath.

Felicia and Holly were stunned to discover Tracy bought Ethan, but the man in charge of the auction suspected they were all working together and told the guards to seize them.

Tracy congratulated Holly and Felicia on ruining everything, but Ethan broke free from his restraints and punched one of the men to get away from him.

Felicia and Holly attacked the other guards before Ethan said they should go and thanked them for the save.

Tracy, Felicia, Holly and Ethan all bolted for the door as they made their dramatic escape together.

General Hospital spoilers say some twists and turns are still to come now that Ethan has been rescued, so stay tuned.
