General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, August 8 – ‘Eddie’ Vanishes Over Mental Ward Threat – Sasha Panics Over Cody’s Visit

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 8, reveals that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) pushed Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) for answers about the message he had her pass along to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), which she delivered just before the incident at the Metro Court pool.

Valentin tried to keep things vague, but Anna pushed until he finally admitted to having dealings with Pikeman years before Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was born.

Back when Valentin worked with an independent contractor, they consulted with Pikeman on a few projects.

As a result, Pikeman knew Valentin and asked him to be an intermediary with Sonny.

Anna didn’t understand why Valentin would do it since the whole thing screamed illegal activity, but Valentin admitted he didn’t care.

When Anna asked why, Valentin said this happened back when Anna was being framed, so he was looking for a way to stop Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Since Pikeman is connected to the WSB, Valentin thought they might be able to help.

Valentin also explained that agents who left the WSB could usually find a position at Pikeman afterward.

The wheels were turning for Anna, who presumed Valentin worked with Pikeman around the time that Victor was the head of the bureau.

Valentin confirmed that was true and wondered if Anna thought Pikeman was behind the strike at the pool.

Anna refused to be a sitting duck and angrily pointed out that it was a good time for Valentin to tell her anything else he’d left out.

Valentin was heartbroken at the thought of putting Anna at risk, but Anna seemed poised to face more danger as she dashed off to find the missing piece of all this.

At GH, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) confirmed that he’d donated all Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) money like his brother asked.

However, Martin was skeptical about Cyrus being penniless and acted like he must have money somewhere else.

Cyrus denied it as Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) glared at him through the window of his hospital room.

Afterward, Martin expressed concern to Austin about Cyrus going back to prison so soon after his heart attack, but Austin acted like he was a tough cookie and would be fine.

Once Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) summoned Austin, they bickered in the doc’s office.

Mason threatened Austin by pointing out that security cameras probably caught Austin’s confrontation with Gordon Stevens (Maurice Hall) outside the Port Charles Grill.

Although Mason acted like it’d look bad considering Gordon’s grim fate, Austin ordered his cousin to leave.

Mason warned that Austin should be careful about disrespecting family since you never know when they’ll turn on you!

At Ferncliff, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) hallucinated that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) was there and imagined that he raged at her over the attack.

Cody eventually morphed into Cyrus, who kept trying to give Sasha drugs and acted like nobody else cared about her.

Sasha sank to the floor and cried before the Cody hallucination returned.

Cody warned that Sasha was going to be locked away for the rest of her life and forced her to look at the wound on his back.

While Sasha was freaking out, Cody convinced Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) to help him sneak in Ferncliff for a visit.

Nurse Janice (Lauren Swickard) realized Brook Lynn worked with Blaze (Jacqueline Lopez) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), so she admitted she was a huge fan.

Brook Lynn offered to let Janice hear a song that hadn’t been released yet, so that gave Cody a chance to sneak back to Sasha’s room.

Once Cody approached Sasha, he tried to tell her everything would be OK and that he’d try to get her out of there.

Sasha began screaming for Cody to get out and was clearly confused about what was real.

An orderly took Brook Lynn to a frantic Sasha and dragged Cody away from her with a threat to call security.

Cody and Brook Lynn both looked rattled as they were forced out of Sasha’s room.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) tried to convince Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) that it was time to have “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) committed to a mental ward.

“Eddie” eavesdropped as Olivia insisted she was the only one who could legally have Ned committed since she was his wife.

Olivia warned that she wouldn’t do that to her husband – not now, not ever!

Once Tracy left, “Eddie” approached Olivia and admitted to overhearing her.

After “Eddie” thanked Olivia for standing up for him, he warned that Ned didn’t exist anymore and wasn’t coming back.

“Eddie” just wanted to focus on his music, but Olivia suggested he could do that and still be part of the family if he let Brook Lynn write songs with him.

Olivia got “Eddie” to sing a little for her, but he flashed back to overhearing the mental ward conversation and complained about having a dry throat.

When Olivia returned with a beverage for “Eddie,” she realized he’d bolted and was nowhere to be found.

Back at GH, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) flirted with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) before Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) arrived.

Gregory made up an excuse for being at the hospital by claiming he was working on an op-ed.

When Gregory crossed paths with Tracy, she wondered what he was doing there.

Tracy admitted she was worried about Gregory at the Metro Court when he couldn’t pick up his credit card.

Gregory felt that Tracy had no right to pry into his private life, so they had a loud confrontation as Finn and Liz witnessed it nearby.

Tracy ultimately acted like she had more important things to do since she needed to get Ned committed.

Gregory warned that Tracy couldn’t take away Ned’s agency and right to live however he chose to, but her mind was made up.

Back with Cyrus, he was handcuffed and wheeled on an elevator ahead of his prison transport.

When Austin reappeared and stared at him, Cyrus started back with a devious smirk.

General Hospital spoilers say this Austin and Cyrus mystery will unravel sooner or later, so stay tuned for updates on their connection and the bad news that could bring.
