General Hospital (GH) spoilers imply some shocking plot twists on the horizon. Currently, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) has no clue that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is his biological son, despite feeling an unknown connection to the young man. Still, Cody knows Mac is his bio dad, but has stayed hush-hush about it as he wanted rights to the Ice Princess necklace.
In order to do this, he had to pretend he was Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) son. Mac believes he needs to watch over Cody because of his bond with Dominique Baldwin (Shell Danielson), but there’s so much more at play here.
Cody recently made a major confession to Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) about how he knew Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Dr. Monty (Darin Toonder) were drugging her. He also told her about his involvement with Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and their gambling game arrangement at the Savoy.
Sasha was very delicate with Cody after he spilled the beans, but who could blame her? He was the one person in her life who believed her and went to extreme lengths to rescue her from Ferncliff.
Will coming clean to Sasha inspire Cody to do the same where Mac is concerned? As it stands, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is the only other person who knows about Cody’s true paternity.
GH spoilers suggest Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will be brought into the loop; however, it’s unlikely that she’ll run to Mac. What is likely though, is her encouraging Cody to come forward and reach out to Mac.
Sure, he lied (not for the best reasons, either), but his recent heroic efforts with Sasha, not to mention how over-the-moon grandson James West (Gary James Fuller) seems to be about Cody, will undeniably have Mac seeing his newfound son in a good light.
Cody may also see that coming clean with Sasha was not only the right thing to do but cathartic for his soul.
Cody has always been on the “wrong side” of the law; however, much like other characters in Port Charles – looking at you, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) – he may be a criminal, but he has good intentions and a heart of gold.
