General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) could have a big request for Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) eventually. So far, amnesiac Esme is confused and struggling to nail down updates on her life.
Esme doesn’t remember how she wound up pregnant or who the father is, so she’s trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) told Esme that he could “possibly” be the bio dad, but that doesn’t line up with what GH fans saw onscreen.
Furthermore, it’s doubtful Spencer would’ve lied so blatantly to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) about NOT being the father. It seems likely Spencer is messing with Esme and working an angle to see if she’s genuinely faking her amnesia.
Regardless, Esme was previously quite convinced that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) was the father of her child. Viewers even heard Esme talking to “Ace” behind closed doors about Daddy Nikolas, so all signs point to Nik truly being the father.
Of course, we also know Nikolas wants full custody of this baby, but that plan may not work out as well as he hopes. Nikolas could land in prison soon since Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will apparently team up against him.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is hot on Nikolas’ trail, so what happens if Nik lands in the slammer for holding Esme captive or even for her attempted murder? Esme certainly isn’t ready to be a single mom, especially in this baffled amnesiac state.
Assuming Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) can clear Esme’s name as expected, that doesn’t mean she’ll be prepared to raise this child. Nevertheless, Esme has grown quite attached to Elizabeth as her nurse and almost considers her a friend by now.
We’ve heard Esme talk about how good Nurse Baldwin has been to her, so Liz has managed to earn her trust at GH. It’s easy to imagine Esme dropping a bomb and asking if Liz will adopt her baby.
Esme might get the feeling that Elizabeth is a good mom and push her to raise this kid since she’s in no mental shape to do it herself. Liz might turn Esme down, but it could still be a bonding moment that helps Elizabeth continue to see her in a new light.
Maybe Liz could play a mentor type of role to Esme and try to help her adjust to motherhood in the end.
Whatever the case, Esme could use a mother figure – one who isn’t as deranged as her bio mom, Heather Webber (Alley Mills).
