General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) could make a dramatic comeback in the not-too-distant future. Nikolas is currently on life support in Mason Gatlin Holt’s (Nathanyael Grey) care, but there are some good reasons to think he might give Mason the slip once he awakens.
For starters, everyone thinks Nikolas is the coward who ran away from his problems.
That seems like the perfect setup for Nikolas to return in heroic fashion and perhaps save Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) along with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).
Of course, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) initially accused Nikolas following Ace’s kidnapping, but Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is really the one to blame.
Perhaps Esme’s automatic finger-pointing at Nikolas is a sign that he’ll actually be the one to save Ace in the end.
Victor previously threatened Nikolas’ life and keeps talking about what a disappointment he was.
GH writers are definitely keeping Nikolas’ name in the storyline, so this could be setting up a big reveal.
There’ll inevitably be a shocking moment down the road when Victor finally gets his comeuppance.
It’s easy to imagine the camera panning over to reveal Nikolas has shown up to save his sons!
Nikolas’ explanation could follow, but it’d be nice to see him come through for Spencer after letting him down so many times in the past.
Spencer feels guilty about allowing Esme and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) to play him for a fool, but Nik has made mistakes of his own that he needs to atone for.
Having Nikolas step up for Spencer now would be a game-changer and could mend their broken relationship.
It would also prove how much Nikolas loves Ace and intends to take care of him as well.
Spencer, Ace, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) are all trapped on The Haunted Star with Victor for now, but plenty of people will be chasing after them.
Once they reach Venezuela or get forced to stop elsewhere due to the engine room trouble
Trina will create, that could make it easier to pull off rescues and takedown attempts.
Several Port Charles residents will be targeting Victor, but we should at least consider the possibility that Nikolas will awaken and recover in time to show off his heroic side!
Will Nikolas save both his sons and catch Victor off guard?
Could Victor have underestimated Nikolas and what he can accomplish when he sets his mind to something?
Whether Adam Huss reprises the role or someone else plays Nikolas instead, the show has the prime opportunity to put Nik back in the action – at least long enough for him to play the hero.
