General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, February 14 Recap – Maggie Lies About Identity – Portia Marries Curtis

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, February 14, reveals that the guests raised no objections, so Laura Collins (Genie Francis) asked if Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) knew of any reason why they should not be joined in holy matrimony.

Once Portia and Curtis stayed silent, Laura walked them through their vows – including some heartfelt words that they’d prepared on their own.

Portia began stammering at one point like she was contemplating a confession, but she ultimately got her act together.

After Curtis and Portia exchanged rings, Laura officially pronounced them husband and wife.

Portia and Curtis shared their first kiss as a married couple followed by their first dance at the reception.

Next, it was time for the father-daughter dance, so Sterling Robinson (Ricco Ross) danced with Portia and noticed something seemed to be wrong.

However, Portia brushed it off and acted like she was just overwhelmed in a good way.

Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) also danced with Trina before Curtis took his own turn with her.

Portia gazed over at Curtis and Trina with a guilty expression nearby.

Later, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) asked Trina if she had a dance left for him, so she pointed out they weren’t pretending to be friends anymore. That left Spencer smiling since he was never pretending.

Although Trina knew Curtis was putting on a brave face, she could tell not having Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) at the wedding was really bothering him.

Sick or not, Trina felt that Stella should be there.

After Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) gave a toast to the newlyweds, it was Trina’s turn as the maid of honor.

Trina didn’t come when her name was called, so Portia, Curtis and all the guests were left wondering where she was.

At Stella’s hotel room on Tuesday’s GH episode, she read from her Bible before Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) showed up.

Stella acknowledged that she had a bad case of second-guessing and hated all these unanswered questions.

Since Stella wasn’t sure she was doing the right thing by staying away from the nuptials, she considered the possibility that she was being cowardly.

Jordan insisted Stella was no coward and suggested they both wanted Curtis to be happy.

Stella felt they were stuck in an impossible situation where Curtis would be heartbroken either way.

Jordan argued that if Curtis found out Trina was his daughter, he’d get over the shock and be thrilled eventually.

Stella was worried since Portia had lied for decades and had missed her window of opportunity to come clean.

Jordan defended Portia somewhat before Stella took a pill – leaving Jordan concerned that Stella was actually making herself sick over all this.

Stella assured Jordan that it was just something she took for her blood pressure and added that her cardiologist said she’d outlive them all.

Jordan thought that was good news since Stella was indispensable, but Stella noted that cemeteries were full of indispensable people.

Since Stella wanted to discuss something else, she quizzed Jordan about her love life. Jordan deflected and got called out for it, but Stella finally agreed not to meddle.

After Jordan left, Stella was surprised by another knock at the door. When Stella opened it, both Trina and Spencer were standing there.

At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) gave Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) a Valentine’s Day card and showed him a knife she’d improvised.

Although Heather was ready to hit the road with Ryan, Esme and their unborn grandchild, Ryan quickly realized Esme didn’t know about the plan.

Once Ryan grabbed Heather’s arm, she held her makeshift knife to his throat. Ryan left Heather go before she said Esme would be told when the time was right.

Heather also talked about how they’d be cruising as a family in an RV soon, but Ryan wanted details on how she was going to pull all this off.

After Heather gave Ryan her knife as another Valentine’s gift, she told him to keep it hidden before their big escape.

Heather thought that Ryan could be his old self again once they got to the gate.

Ryan assumed he was Heather’s backup plan since he’d be the one holding the knife while she was holding Esme’s hand. It’d be easy for Heather to claim Ryan took them hostage if they got caught.

Heather urged Ryan to just try and look as vacant as possible.

According to Heather, they’d be on the outside with Esme before the guards even knew they were gone.

Heather got emotional at the thought of being a real family, but Ryan wondered what would happen if Esme refused to come with them.

Nevertheless, Heather said Ryan should let “Mama” take care of everything and added that no one would ever hurt Esme again once they were outside those walls.

Ryan seemed on board, but he hinted about one stop he wanted to make before they took off on their road trip.

At the pub in Devon, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) met a woman (played by Heather Olt) working inside who served them some ale and faced questions about Maggie Fitzgerald.

The bartender claimed to recall someone who used to work as a nanny showing up there for trivia nights, but she said this lady went by the name Marjorie.

After Dante and Sam explained that somebody Maggie once cared for was in trouble, they hoped Maggie could provide some help.

Sam wanted to find out if Esme had a father, mother or people who’d be willing to do ANYTHING for her.

The bartender played dumb, but she contradicted herself a bit as they talked.

Although this woman claimed to know nothing about trivia, she rattled off the Spice Girls quickly and knew more than she was letting on.

This bartender definitely had a reaction to Esme’s name, but she said she never heard Marjorie mention an Esme Prince.

Marjorie had supposedly stopped coming to trivia nights, but Dante and Sam hoped the bartender would get in touch with them at the inn if she thought of anything else.

Once Dante and Sam were outside, they discussed the discrepancies in the woman’s story and knew she had to be lying.

That left Sam and Dante with the obvious question of why.

Back inside the pub, the woman – who was clearly Maggie herself – pulled out a box of letters from Esme.

Maggie said she warned Esme not to go looking for her father and wondered what Esme had gotten herself into this time.
