In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, the hospital was officially on lockdown. They weren’t allowing any nonessential persons in. They either had to be a doctor or a patient. Teddy announced that to the whole hospital after what happened to Addison and Tia. The two were hit by a car. They were rushed to the ER.

Addison’s shoulder was dislocated, but she was otherwise fine because the car had only clipped her. Tia wasn’t as lucky. The car ran her over and she was pregnant. Tia was about twenty-five weeks along. She tried to beg the doctors not to perform a C-section and unfortunately they had to ignore her pleas because she later went into cardiac arrest.

It had looked like Tia would die. Which galvanized them to delivering the baby. They didn’t want the family to lose two people in the same day and so they tried to save one of them if they couldn’t save the both of them.

Addison assisted where she could with Tia’s C-section after her arm was pushed back into the socket. She was scared for Tia. They managed to get a heartbeat back. Only Tia still needed surgery. Someone also had to call her husband and tell him about what had happened at the clinic.

Tia’s husband wasn’t in the same state. But they facetimed him. He was a doctor and so they didn’t have to break it down what happened. They just had to tell him the medical terms.

They also kept him up to date while they worked to save both mother and son. Ben and Maya also stopped by the hospital. They were worried about their spouses and so Teddy allowed them in. She broke lockdown to do it only they were friends and she knew they were worried about their wives. Even Winston was worried about his wife.

Winston actually sought Maggie out to check up on her. They haven’t spoken one on one in months. They usually leave any discussion limited to patient care and so Winston being concerned for her was a great step for them. It shows that there was hope. Maggie was even feeling happy about the interaction until she read an article about her partial heart surgery.

She was literally quoted as someone taking all the credit and they were claiming she called her own husband an “assistant”. And so Maggie went running to Teddy to ask her if they could get the article changed before Winston reads it.

Teddy said she would do what she could, but she thought Maggie should talk to her husband about this before it became a bigger issue. Teddy was speaking from personal experience on this. The not talking could sometimes eat away at a relationship until there’s barely anything left. Teddy didn’t want that to happen to Maggie and Winston and so she gave Maggie something to think about. Teddy was dealing with a lot because of the assault on the doctors. She was coordinating with security. She was staying on top of patients that needed to be redirected from the clinic.

She also was forgoing any food while she stayed working. The whole hospital was dealing with the fallout of what happened when that car ran down two doctors. Mika had witnessed it.

She froze after the accident and she was getting anxiety attacks from freezing because she wasn’t alright. Richard found her zoned out in the hallway. He took her to a private room so that they could talk. He listened to her as she explained what happened. He also didn’t judge her when she said her first thought was “what if that had been me”.

Richard said she witnessed violence firsthand. He wasn’t going to judge her for how she handled it. He talked her down and elsewhere in the hospital Ben was doing the same for Maya.

They had both checked on their wives. Ben also picked up Pru from daycare early. Ben told Maya that this fear they had was what their wives felt on a regular basis and so it was only fair that it was their turn. Maya said Carina knew what she was signing up for when she married her. And when Bailey married him, he was still a doctor.

They were joking about it. Not everyone was up to doing that just yet. Addison finally allowed herself to be fully checked out by a doctor and she broke down when it was just her and Amelia.

Addison said that a lot of women’s health care had gotten shut down when Roe vs Wade was overturned. It wasn’t even about abortion care. The doctors weren’t giving these women pelvic examinations or pap smear or even cancer screenings because they all were trying to stay on the right side of the law.

Addison was overrun with patients. She wanted to be there to help everyone and it was tiring. She hasn’t been home in months. She was constantly on the road and she hasn’t taken any time to self-reflect. Being there at the hospital was the longest amount of time she’s had to herself. And once she was done taking a minute to herself, she was back out on the road.

Tia had made it through surgery. She survived and her baby was receiving the best care in NICU. Her husband arrived from Tennessee. He was there when Tia woke up and he reassured her that their baby was still alive.

The police found the driver that ran them off the road and the lockdown was lifted.

Only Maggie waited too late to talk to Winston because by time she did – he no longer believed her when she said she respected him.

THE END!
