The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, April 17, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) assured Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) had been nothing but professional.
Since Hope hadn’t been able to convince Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), she hoped Steffy might speak with him again and help him see there was nothing to worry about.
Steffy agreed to give it another shot, but she also wanted Hope to feel free to come to her if Thomas freaked her out in any way.
In the design office, Thomas hoped that maybe he could change Liam’s mind about him in time.
Liam struggled to trust and wanted Thomas to understand that Hope wasn’t attracted to him.
As Liam talked about his wife’s commitment to their marriage, Hope spied and eavesdropped for a moment since the door was ajar.
After Hope interrupted, she declined to leave with Liam and opted to do more work with Thomas. That gave Thomas a chance to once again express gratitude to Hope.
Thomas talked about how Hope stepped up for Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) and showed them both compassion after Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) died.
Although Thomas never wanted to mess things up in Hope’s marriage or turn her life upside down again, his past feelings for her were valid.
Thomas suggested that it made complete sense that anyone would fall in love with Hope since she was amazing.
Hope said she wasn’t perfect, but Thomas kept gushing about her anyway.
Since Douglas’ bad boy father was part of the package, Thomas joked that it was a good thing that Hope was a good girl.
Hope pointed out that she’d spent most of her life trying to be someone different than her mom and judging Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) for her past.
However, Hope now understood that maybe she was wrong and that Brooke might’ve just been following her heart.
Thomas was confused about what Hope was saying, but she just replied that she was trying to figure her life out.
After Thomas laughed about everyone doing that, he assured Hope that she would always have a place in Douglas’ life.
Thomas called her the hope for their future and compared her to an angel, so Hope looked unsettled.
When Liam stopped by the CEO office, Steffy admitted Hope wanted her to talk to him about Thomas.
After Steffy mentioned Thomas’ therapy and all the work he’d been doing, she expressed confidence that whatever feelings Thomas had for Hope were in the past.
Steffy didn’t think Thomas was going to interfere in Liam and Hope’s marriage.
At Il Giardino on Monday’s B&B episode, Brooke praised Paul “Hollis” Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers) for being sweet and a good kisser, but she turned down him down since she wasn’t ready to date yet.
Once Hollis got the rejection news and walked off, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) rejoined Brooke and noticed she seemed upset.
Brooke wanted to keep things light for their lunch together and acted like she was probably reading too much into the situation anyway.
After Taylor pushed her bestie for updates, Brooke confessed this was about Hope and their mother-daughter relationship.
Hope wanted to be the complete opposite of her mother and had lashed out over Brooke’s past.
Brooke owned her mistakes and refused to beat herself up for following her heart, but she was uneasy over how things had gone down with Hope.
Taylor wondered if Hope and Liam were having problems, so Brooke admitted Hope got defensive every time she asked.
After Taylor expressed confidence that it would all work out, she added that Hope was so in love and committed to Liam.
Brooke flashed back to asking Hope about her feelings for Thomas and hinted about Hope’s marriage being under a lot of pressure.
Taylor realized Brooke meant because of Thomas and wished there was a way to convince Liam that her son had truly changed.
