The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) attempt to score full custody didn’t go as expected. However, Thomas would probably rather have Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) living with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) than with Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) – at least at this point in the story.
Steffy doesn’t trust Thomas, but she understands how much Douglas means to him.
Although Steffy will be protective of Douglas once he’s under her care, she probably won’t be quite as controlling about visitation.
Hope has been severely limiting Thomas’ access to Douglas, so that’s part of what prompted this situation in front of the judge.
Although Hope had good reasons to be wary, Thomas clearly felt she was taking things too far.
Now Douglas is hoping to live with Steffy and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), so it looks like he’ll get his wish.
This won’t be a permanent arrangement, but Thomas and Hope should agree to give Douglas what he wants for the time being.
Thomas would rather have full custody under his own roof, but he may hope this can be a nice transition step.
Douglas will still be living with a Forrester, so Thomas may consider that a win initially.
However, we have to consider what Thomas’ reaction will be once Douglas grows closer to Uncle Finn.
Douglas already adores Finn and will inevitably latch onto him even more once he’s living at the cliff house full-time.
Thomas has never approved of Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) taking over the father role, but now it’ll be Finn who’s serving as a fill-in dad.
It sounds like Thomas will trade one problem for another in a way.
Of course, we also know that Finn is concerned about the damage Thomas has done to his relationship with Douglas.
Since Finn is such a good guy, he’ll want to step up and make sure Douglas has all the support he needs.
That could lead to Thomas battling some jealousy over how close Douglas and Finn are getting.
B&B may bring some additional conflict to the story by creating a feud between Thomas and Steffy’s husband.
It’s easy to anticipate Thomas accusing Finn of stealing his son and warning him to back off.
If Thomas feels like Douglas prefers hanging out with Uncle Finn instead, it could lead to troubling news and really send him off the rails.
