The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, February 17, reveals Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) texted Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) to let him know Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) was at the cliff house getting his room organized.
Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) reminded Hope that the situation was temporary and assured her that she’d protect Douglas fiercely – even when it came to Thomas.
Douglas came running down all excited about the ocean view and the binoculars John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was going to find for him.
Hope guessed it was time to leave with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), but she assured Douglas that they were just a phone call or text away before giving him a hug.
At Forrester Creations, Thomas got Hope’s text and decided to head over to the cliff house.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) pointed out that Steffy still hadn’t gotten over what Thomas did, but Thomas said she’d never keep him from seeing his son.
Although Eric advised calling first, Thomas didn’t think he needed permission to come over and wanted to surprise Douglas.
As Thomas left, he said this could be the start of something amazing and hoped he could eventually get back in at Forrester Creations, too.
Eric suggested he hoped Thomas was right.
At Il Giardino, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) said she felt for Hope’s “mama heart,” so Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) marveled over Taylor consoling her and telling her that she felt for her daughter.
Brooke and Taylor realized things would’ve been different years ago or even a couple months ago.
However, Taylor and Brooke now understood it was better to be friends instead of rivals.
After Brooke and Taylor agreed they were “grandmas united,” they raised their glasses and enjoyed their meal together until Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) interrupted.
Deacon teased Taylor and Brooke about the cold war ending and eventually got updates on Douglas choosing to live with Steffy instead of Hope or Thomas.
Once Deacon wrapped his head around the news, Brooke and Taylor talked about being determined to keep harmony in their family.
At the cabin on Friday’s B&B episode, Liam and Hope returned home looking somber.
Hope missed Douglas already and worried about Thomas trying to take advantage of the situation, but Liam insisted Steffy would keep Douglas safe.
Back at the cliff house, Douglas said he knew he was asking a lot – maybe too much.
Nevertheless, Douglas really loved Aunt Steffy and thought living with her would be better than choosing between his parents, who were in such a tug of war.
After Steffy and Finn assured Douglas that he was welcome, Finn suggested they should go find the binoculars they talked about.
Steffy was alone when Thomas came waltzing in, so she asked what her brother was doing there.
Thomas said that Douglas lived there now, which basically meant he’d be living there, too.
Steffy argued that Douglas needed time to adjust and added that she was trying to make this day as stress-free as possible. Thomas seemed offended over Steffy acting like he’d stress Douglas out with his presence.
Although Thomas assumed he could see Douglas whenever he wanted, Steffy said that wasn’t how it was going to be. Thomas asked if Steffy would keep him away from his son, so Steffy talked about setting boundaries.
Once Thomas said the best thing was for Douglas to spend time with his father, Steffy pointed out that things couldn’t be fixed overnight and pushed for patience.
After Steffy mentioned her promise to Hope, she declared that she was obligated to protect Douglas. Thomas was appalled over Steffy acting like Douglas needed protection from his dad, but Steffy felt he needed to work through his issues.
That led to Thomas ranting about all his apologies and how he’d been kicked out of the company as well as the family.
Now Steffy was trying to keep Thomas away from Douglas, so he snapped about her being the boss there just like at Forrester Creations.
While Douglas was in his room with headphones on, Finn came downstairs and warned Thomas not to talk to his wife like that. Thomas couldn’t just come into their home and give orders, so Finn said it was best for him to leave.
Steffy agreed that Thomas shouldn’t cause a scene, but Thomas continued to fume.
As Thomas glared, he warned that he wouldn’t allow Steffy or Finn to keep him away from his son.
