The Young and the Restless Recap: Thursday, December 21 – Jordan’s Hostage Trade, Demands Nikki Take Claire’s Place

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 21, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will be all set to unleash Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) scandal and deliver the first blow, but he’ll wonder if Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is having second thoughts.

Ashley will admit she has pity for Tucker since his life’s about to blow up, but she’ll feel like protecting Jabot has to come first.

Besides, Tucker only has himself to blame since he started this by coming after them.

Jack will hit send and make sure the news coverage of the scandal goes public, so he’ll suggest there’s no turning back now. It’ll leave Jack certain that everyone will either abandon ship at Glacade or that Tucker will be forced out.

In Tucker’s suite, he’ll be busy doing prep work for his new company when he gets a notification about a new article online.

Tucker will see his picture and a headline about him being complicit in that old cover-up, so he’ll fume over Jack and Ashley’s move.

Afterward, Tucker will barge in the Abbott mansion and seem hurt that Ashley would stoop down to Jack’s level with him. After Tucker makes it clear that the war is on, he’ll insist he’s not done by a long shot.

At Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will meet with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and play innocent in the exposed scandal drama.

Although Kyle will act like he tried to stop Jack and begged him to keep Audra’s name out of it, she’ll suspect Kyle was in on the plan.

Audra will fear that her role in the cover-up of the scandal involving underage girls could still come back to bite her.

Kyle will keep playing the part of the disrespected son who needed Audra’s help to rise to power.

Audra will act like it’s all over if Tucker’s reputation is destroyed and they can’t use Glacade against Jabot.

Kyle will argue that there might be a way to salvage this and will hint about having the perfect product to steal.

Once Tucker returns to his room later, he’ll find Audra drinking and waiting for him. Audra will admit Kyle claims he’s innocent and has a plan to help, but she won’t be sure she trusts him anymore.

Tucker will act like they’ve got bigger problems and will once again seem upset about Ashley’s betrayal. The whole thing will throw Tucker off his game and leave him uncertain about his next move.

After Kyle heads home, he’ll raise a glass with Jack and Ashley as they toast to the first successful step of Tucker’s demise.

At Society, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will give Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) updates on his official return to Chancellor-Winters and Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) objection to him serving as a mentor.

Billy won’t think working for Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will ignite the same Tucker-related obsessions that he had at Jabot, but he’ll vow to tell Chelsea if he ever feels differently.

Although Billy will feel confident in his career shift, he’ll still have questions about his legacy and purpose.

However, Billy will remain optimistic and will assure Chelsea that he’s feeling great about things.

At the jazz lounge, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will tell Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that she needs to use the ladies’ room.

Once Nikki slips around the corner, she’ll drink from her flask and get caught with it when Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) appears.

Nate will also see Nikki popping a breath mint, so he’ll follow her into the main club area and confront her about her relapse.

Nikki will lie that Nate’s wrong and make it clear that it’s none of his business before stomping off.

Afterward, Nate will approach Victor, who’ll act like the former Newman employee needs to leave his family alone.

Nevertheless, Nate will express concern for Nikki since he has reason to believe she’s drinking again. When Nikki spots Nate talking to Victor, she’ll take off in a hurry.

Victor will eventually search the athletic club with Nate, who’ll worry that Nikki might’ve taken the car while under the influence of alcohol.

Once Victor says this goes no further than right here, he’ll warn Nate to stay out of his family’s business from now on.

Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will bring some things to the psych ward for Claire Grace (Hayley Erin), who won’t be in her room.

Victoria will notice a bracelet on the bed and flash back to Jordan (Colleen Zenk) wearing an identical one during all the chaos at the lake house.

When a staff member brings Claire’s dinner, Victoria will get confirmation that Claire doesn’t have anything scheduled that’d keep her out of her room right now.

Victoria will push to speak with security, so they’ll obtain surveillance footage of wig-wearing Jordan dressed as a doctor while wheeling Claire out of the hospital.

Claire’s vanishing act will put Victoria in panic mode on Thursday’s Y&R episode, so she’ll get the police involved along with Victor’s security team.

After Victoria fills in Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), she’ll worry about Jordan inflicting more pain when Claire’s already so vulnerable.

Cole will assure Victoria that they’re going to track Claire down.

Victoria and Cole will also alert Victor to Claire’s disappearance thanks to Jordan’s sneaky move, so he’ll end up heading back to the ranch to check on Nikki.

Once Nikki heads home, she’ll prepare to guzzle more vodka when Jordan’s phone call comes in. Jordan will hope that Nikki has enjoyed the stripper music and fitting Edgar Allan Poe poetry.

After Jordan assumes Nikki’s about to have another drink, she’ll suggest Nikki should thank her for giving her back something she wanted – meaning alcohol.

Nikki will admit she’s drunk right now and act like she doesn’t care, but Jordan will need her to keep it together for the next part of all this.

Once Jordan admits she has Claire, Nikki will insist Claire’s at the hospital. Jordan will make it clear that Claire is her hostage since her great-niece chose Victoria over the woman who raised her.

If Victoria ever wants to see “sweet little Claire” again, Jordan will propose a trade: Victoria’s mother for her daughter!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki will land in another tricky situation thanks to Jordan, so stay tuned.
