The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 29, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will dance with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) at the jazz lounge, so they’ll talk about Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) having to learn the hard way about love and forgiveness.
In Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) suite, he’ll give Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) updates on Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) surprise visit and leave her wondering what it would take for their friend to turn over a new leaf.
Michael will suggest that maybe Phyllis is just Phyllis, but Lauren will think Phyllis might evolve with the right motivation.
Regardless, Lauren will have faith in Michael’s legal maneuvers – though he’ll point out that Phyllis needs to accept that there’ll be some repercussions.
In the end, Lauren and Michael will decide to forget all the drama while they enjoy their private romantic oasis.
At the Abbott house, Summer will get a text from Phyllis and mutter about all this being her mom’s fault.
When Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrives, Summer will hug him and ask questions about the Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) ordeal since Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) called her about what happened.
Nick will reassure Summer before he mentions his forced time off from Newman Enterprises and Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) baby loss.
Summer will express her condolences and try to avoid piling her problems on Nick, but he’ll suggest that’s what dads are for.
After Summer admits Kyle wants to separate and that he asked her to move out, Nick will rant about Phyllis’ wild plan and all the drama it led to for their daughter.
Summer will acknowledge that a lot of this is Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) fault – and she’ll mention that Diane never paid for some of the things she did.
However, Summer will also see how badly she messed up by freezing Kyle out and protecting Phyllis above everything else.
Nick will think Kyle’s eventually going to understand that Phyllis put Summer in a terrible situation.
Unfortunately, Summer won’t be so sure due to the trust she destroyed. It’ll leave Summer worried this might really be the end of her marriage.
Although Summer will reiterate that Phyllis is Stark’s victim, she’ll admit she can’t help but hold her mom responsible for this mess.
Nick will think that Summer should indeed hold Phyllis responsible under the circumstances.
After everything, Summer will feel like she’s lost both Kyle and Phyllis since there still isn’t a way to bring her mom home without her landing in prison.
Nick will push Summer to be patient and give Kyle some space, but he’ll also offer to talk to Kyle – just the two of them. There’s no guarantee that’ll work, but Nick will think it’s worth a shot.
After sleeping with Kyle, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will suggest it’s fine if he wants to make a smooth exit.
Kyle won’t want to go home, so he’ll kiss Audra and lay her back on the bed for another round of passion.
Once they’re done, Audra will admit she’s got a huge day at work tomorrow since she’s taking over for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) at Newman Media while he replaces Nick.
Kyle will joke about Audra kicking him out, but she’ll suggest they should shower together before he gets dressed. Afterward, wet-haired Kyle will have his clothes on as he prepares to leave.
Audra will note that if this happens again, that’s great. If not, Audra will assure Kyle that she had a sensational time.
Kyle will agree with all that and kiss Audra goodbye before he heads downstairs. That’s where Kyle will have an awkward encounter with Jack and Diane as they wrap up their date night.
Once Jack mentions that he saw Kyle going upstairs, Kyle will play along with his dad’s assumption about him getting a room to escape the tension at home.
Diane will also notice Kyle’s wet hair and assume he took a shower to clear his head.
Kyle will back up that idea and suggest that he ultimately realized staying away from the house wouldn’t solve anything.
After Kyle says he wants to be there for Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) when he wakes up, Diane will apologize for exaggerating how upset Harrison was earlier.
Kyle won’t want to discuss anything and will leave in a hurry, so Jack will ask if Diane noticed that he seemed off – like he was nervous. Diane will think Kyle’s just exhausted, so Jack will decide she’s probably right.
Back in Audra’s suite, she’ll do some research on Kyle and his role as Marchetti’s CEO.
Audra will see a photo of Kyle and Summer together, so she’ll call it a “nice pic” before receiving a text.
Nate’s message will ask if Audra’s ready for tomorrow since their worlds are about to change.
“Maybe mine already has,” Audra will hint on Thursday’s Y&R episode.
Back at the Abbott house, Nick will leave right as Jack and Diane come home.
Although Diane and Jack will offer to wait with Summer until Kyle returns, she’ll act like she’s fine to wait alone.
When Kyle walks in, Summer will call out to get his attention. After staring at Summer for a moment, Kyle will silently climb the staircase and refuse to talk through their issues.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle’s new secret will lead to some shockers, so stay tuned to see how his betrayal news will blow up.
