The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 28, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will overhear the end of Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) tense phone call at Crimson Lights, but she’ll reject his faux sympathy and wonder what he really wants.
Billy will mention that he’s seen Phyllis with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) more than once lately and hint that she might be financially unstable enough to give him a hand.
At the GCAC, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will approach Tucker and suspect his Jabot takeover plan has hit a snag, but he’ll insist it’s nothing he can’t handle.
At Jabot, an employee will give Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) updates from their financial team, which red-flagged a transaction for a large money transfer.
Jack will see that it came out of the research and development fund before ending up in an old lab account that’d been dormant for years.
When Diane asks who approved the payment, Jack will admit it was Billy.
Back at the coffeehouse, Phyllis will play dumb about Billy’s hunch about her working with Tucker.
After Billy sees Jack’s text summoning him to Jabot immediately, he’ll head right over.
Once Billy arrives on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Jack will ask why he authorized the transfer. Billy will insist he didn’t, so Jack will point out that somebody did.
Although Billy will initially ask if Jack’s calling him a liar, Jack will clarify that somebody is trying to make it look like Billy is embezzling money.
That’ll leave Jack determined to figure out who it is before they strike again.
At Society, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will bump into Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and admit he got the chief of police job.
Summer will congratulate Chance and give him a hug before offering to buy him a celebratory lunch.
At Newman Enterprises, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will urge Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to speak with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and get his own sense of how his father’s doing.
Soon after, Nick will talk to Victor about Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) concerns regarding his health and mental capacity.
Victor will ask if Nick thinks he’s losing his grip, so Nick will deny it – though he’ll confess to questioning his dad’s judgment lately.
That’s especially true when it comes to making Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) an assistant to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), which could result in a doomsday scenario where they both team up against Victor.
Once Nick expresses his fears, Victor will invite him to come back to Newman Enterprises and offer support. Nick will consider the idea that maybe Victor is creating all this chaos as a way to lure him back to the family business.
Victor will seem offended over Nick’s emotional blackmail accusations, so he’ll end the meeting and send him away.
Once Nick finds Summer with Chance at Society, Chance will take off for a news conference.
Nick will raise an eyebrow over how close Chance and Summer are getting, but Summer will insist they’re just friends.
Summer will also give Nick a nudge toward forgiving Phyllis, particularly since she could use a job.
Nick will acknowledge that he’s trying to work on his anger and will agree to talk to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about hiring Phyllis – though he won’t make any promises.
At the athletic club, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will catch Audra with Tucker, who’ll mention that he’ll be in touch with Audra once he has more info.
Nikki will privately warn Audra that it’s not in her best interest to have any relationship with Tucker, but Audra will contend that they’re simply friends who used to work together.
After Nikki brings up Audra being connected to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and now Tucker, she’ll question her judgment when it comes to who she spends her time with.
Audra will ask if Nikki’s ordering her to stop being friends with Tucker and will object to Nikki controlling every facet of her life.
Nikki will insist that Audra’s personal life is her own as long as it doesn’t affect Newman Media. The warning about Tucker will simply be for Audra’s own good.
When Audra mentions viewing Tucker as a mentor, Nikki will wonder what they were talking about earlier.
Audra will make up a bogus excuse and eventually admit she doesn’t like to feel crowded like this, but Nikki will suggest she should view her as a mentor, too.
In Tucker’s suite, Phyllis will demand the rest of her money, but Tucker will point out that she transferred the funds to a dormant lab account instead of Billy’s personal account.
Phyllis will suggest she can trigger that money to go anywhere Tucker wants with one touch, but she’ll want the rest of her payment first.
After Phyllis talks about safeguarding herself, she’ll claim she set up some secondary triggers in case Tucker stiffs her.
Phyllis will explain that she set it up to transfer money into Tucker’s account from that computer that she put in Tucker’s name.
Tucker will accuse Phyllis of bluffing, but she’ll insist she included some other details that she won’t go into.
Phyllis will act like the trail will lead right to Tucker and will gloat about holding all the cards.
Once Phyllis demands $1.1 million plus an extra 20 percent for aggravating her, Tucker will eventually transfer the payment and push her to finish the job.
Phyllis will put the stolen funds in Billy’s personal account before Tucker warns that they’re not quite done.
Tucker will hint about scrapping Marchetti once he takes over Jabot, so Phyllis will threaten to tell Jack everything.
However, Tucker won’t think Phyllis is going to do that since she’ll go down if he goes down.
After Tucker warns Phyllis not to make threats she can’t back up, he’ll mention that the transferred money doesn’t include the 20-percent aggravation fee and kick her out.
Once Jack sees that the funds have been moved from the dormant account to another one, Billy will suggest this has hacker Phyllis written all over it.
After Billy bets his life that Phyllis is working with Tucker to come after them, he’ll suspect this is only the first shot.
Back in his suite, Tucker will get Leanna Love (Barbara Crampton) on a video chat and hint about some interesting buzz he heard about Billy Abbott, so Leanna will declare that she’s all ears.
At the jazz lounge, Phyllis will confirm over the phone that her insurance matter has been settled.
When Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) finds her at the bar, he’ll suggest Phyllis looks like she just lost her best friend.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Danny will have some comforting words for Phyllis soon, so stay tuned to Y&R.
